Available for rent is Daf Studios, a huge eastside warehouse space in Echo Park! There is lots of character inside this 5000 sq/ft., recently renovated building, with post/beam, bow-truss ceilings that are over 19' in the middle, and 12' to the lowest beams throughout the space. With both white and red brick walls through-out the entire building, the aesthetics are very pleasing. The space is made up of two huge main rooms, two bathrooms, an included green room, and an additional/optional large VIP room for $100/flat fee is also available as an add on. It is located half a block from the best Cuban restaurant/cafe in LA, and right next door to a very cute small store with all your basic items like drinks, household products, and party supplies. Lighting and camera rentals are also available. The stage area has vehicle drive-on capability with a 12' wide and 8' tall door to access. Lots of power. Two brand new 5 ton 3phase air conditioning and heating is available. Also available for $45 flat fee is a 5000 Lumen DLP projector and a blue tooth speaker system with amp. 5 - 10 minutes from: - downtown LA - 101 freeway - Hollywood, Silverlake, Los Feliz, Echo Park *higher holiday rates apply Parking: - Building has a drive-in garage for 4 cars or 2-3 vans/trucks under 10.5' tall. - Good amount of neighborhood street parking depending on day of week and time - Tons of parking across the street at a school during non-school hours. - Several large parking structures within a 5 minute drive for larger crews. Food Policy: - outside food and catering IS allowed Alcohol Policy: - allowed to be brought in and served (by individual or bartender) if you are NOT charging money for it. - if alcohol is being SOLD, a permit is required from the city of LA. We also have: - x 20 white plastic folding chairs, - x4 couches, - x5 white leather chairs, - x6 metal bistro chairs, - x1 twelve foot long wooden table, and - x1 metal rolling kitchen type table (good for a bar top). There is a white curved cyc wall & floor that is freshly painted. This cyc wall can be utilized for your photo or video needs. We always have the white floor covered with linoleum, to protect it during non-use for events, or you can choose to utilize the white floor, but if you choose to have it un-covered, and it needs to be re-painted when you are done, then there is a $125 fee. Please note that this is a 5000sq foot building. At the current prices, this is by-far the best price per square foot in this area that you will find. So if you need a large space, at a good price, then this is it! Liability insurance thru "theeventhelper.com" is mandatory for all rentals of the space (Unless you have a company with an insurance plan that can issue insurance certificates). It is very easy to book online. This covers you as the renter/host in case of anyone getting hurt at your party, you are then covered. We have a custom link here: https://www.theeventhelper.com/#wV3s8c The default is for a "wedding" for 40 people, so you will need to change this part to match your details. Then it will already have our venue information plugged in, but “DAF Properties LLC, 2234 W. Temple St. Los Angeles, CA 90026” needs to be listed as the “certificate holder”. All load-in/setup time and cleanup time must be included in the paid booking time. This is firm. You will see that this is the rule for all other spaces on Peerspace as well. Booking time begins from what time you say you will arrive, no rebates for late arrivals. A $125 cleaning fee applies to all rentals. If the space is excessively dirty and not left in a similar condition to when it was given to you, then additional cleaning/damage fees may apply. This will be decided on a case by case basis. There are two brand new 5 ton three phase air conditioning systems. A mandatory insurance certificate is required for all rentals from Eventhelper.com. It is very easy and straight-forward. You will simply plug in your information, pay a fee to them, and an insurance certificate will be quickly issued. No candles or open flames or fires. A $150 fee applies to anyone smoking inside the building. * $150 fee applies to any date changes (based on availability) * All overtime billed at 1.5x the hourly price * Any outside event items picked up, or dropped outside of booking hours will be charged 50% of the hourly location rental fee and is subject to availability of the space. By booking the space renter agrees to the following: CITY, STATE, AND COUNTY LAWS: Renter agrees to comply with all applicable city, county, State, and Federal laws and shall conduct no illegal act on the premises. Renter shall not sell alcohol on premises at any time. Renter may not serve alcohol to minors on the premises at any time. Renter agrees, for everyone’s safety, to ensure alcoholic beverages are consumed in a responsible manner. We reserve the right, in our exclusive discretion, to expel anyone who in its judgment is intoxicated or under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or who shall in any manner do or participate in any act jeopardizing the rights, use permit, or insurability of our staff, guests, or building contents.
Guests may cancel their Booking until 90 days before the event start time and will receive a full refund (including all Fees) of their Booking Price. Guests may cancel their Booking between 90 days and 14 days before the event start time and receive a 50% refund (excluding Fees) of their Booking Price. We have used this venue for the fifth time, if I remember correctly. It is just the perfect spot with a superb host. We just keep on coming back because Derek is so helpful and flexible, and the space is so well maintained with easy to use. Our guests love the experience here. This will definitely be back in 2020.
