In the heart of downtown, this recently restored 1915 bungalow on Cesar Chavez is close to everything. The main gallery space is perfect for parties, art shows, lectures, classes, etc. It has 1200 interior square feet with a beautiful front courtyard and a back space that is perfect for a concert.

We had a fantastic rehearsal dinner here with a catering food truck in the venue’s back parking lot. The space is fresh and relaxed with equal room indoors and the front patio. The venue layout encourages casual socializing. The contact with the owner was positive and prompt. The dinner was a great success with compliments from the guests on the great venue with a fresh Austin vibe!
Daniel was great to work with – answered all of our questions, was on-site before our event started to make sure we had everything that we needed. Our event went well and everyone enjoyed the space. All that being said, I have a few observations to share: –Parking is a bit limited, and East Cesar Chavez on a weeknight after 5:00 has crazy traffic. We were worried about that impacting our turnout, but thankfully by the start of our event at 7:00, the street was quiet and I don't believe anyone had trouble finding parking. –I know that being an art gallery, the decor and look/feel of the room will naturally change over time. But the photos of the space are a bit misleading – it should be noted in the description that the furniture you see is not standard. One photo on the listing showed a blue wall with beautiful lounge furniture with rug, coffee table, etc. I assumed that space was part of the bungalow, but that must have been rented for someone else's event. If you're going to rent this space, stop in to view the space first so you know what you're working with. The photo you see with two black leather arm chairs and a round table between (with live music in the background) – that's the most accurate view of the usable space on the inside. –Might be helpful to advertise the name of the art gallery/venue in the listing. On our event invite, we just put the address. We were told by an attendee that she looked up the address before coming and saw an old real estate listing of the rundown house before it was renovated, graffiti and all. Luckily she still came, but joked about how she wasn't sure what she'd be walking into. I share that to be helpful so that this venue can be used time and time again, and loved by those who use it. It served its purposes for our event, had a really cool vibe, and we'd totally recommend it – just a couple observations for improvement. Thanks for a great time!
Gorgeous space, and amazing host. Was able to get any questions I had answered quickly. This space is so close to downtown, truly a hidden gem in east/downtown Austin.
