About the Space
The Pine Tree Beach House sits atop the bluff at the end of 19th Avenue in the Live Oak District of Santa Cruz. The view, the sound of the surf, the smell of pine and eucalyptus, and the salt air make this a special spot for your event. The great room overlooks Monterey Bay and gives you an unobstructed view of the water and the beach south to 26th Avenue. The great room doors open onto the balcony, expanding the space and the views. There are two tables to accommodate up to 14 people. Or, the room can be configured classroom style to accommodate up to 20 people. And, everyone has a view! At the end of the day, the back yard deck provides its own views and makes a nice place to gather around the fire pit to watch the sunset and listen to the waves. The home has an entry ramp, an elevator, and bathrooms on both floors that are handicap accessible. Beach access varies by the season and the tides but is never more than a 5-minute walk from the house. The kitchen is fully stocked and available for cooking or catering.

The kitchen is fully stocked with cooking and baking supplies and equipment including a 1940s O’Keeffe & Merrit gas stove, a kitchen aid mixer, and a collection of cast iron fry pans.
Service for 12 includes plates, utensils and a variety of glassware
Platters, serving bowls and serving utensils are provided.
Coffee mugs, water glasses, wine and beer glasses and more are all available.
Wine and champagne glasses are provided.
The dining table seats up to 12. An additional drop-leaf table seats 4.
12 chairs will fit around the dining room table. Additional chairs and stools are available.
There is seating for 5 in an assortment of living room chairs.

- Bookings are spaced apart to allow for enhanced cleaning
- The space is cleaned and disinfected in accordance with guidelines from local health authorities
- High touch surfaces and shared amenities have been disinfected
- Soft, porous materials have been properly cleaned or removed
- A licensed professional cleaner is hired between bookings
- Sweep, mop, vacuum and clean the space.
- Supply a hand washing station with soap, warm water, and paper towels or hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
- Clean common areas allowing guest access including bathrooms, kitchens, and entrances.
- Collect and clean dishes, silverware, and other provided host amenities, if applicable.
- Remove garbage and add new lining to cans.

I could not have asked for a better venue to host my engagement party. The venue was beautiful, beach facing, well provisioned right from kitchenware, to furniture and other amenities. The space was perfect for a party of 20 people, and we were even allowed to decorate the place up for our engagement with balloons, photo booth etc among other things. The great room has a tv with which we could host games for all 20 people who could comfortably be seated. The kitchen was well equipped, and we could arrange our buffet style lunch on the kitchen counter with ease. The Sonos speaker system is available throughout the house, and we could easily set the party vibe. Above all, the ocean view from the patio made it very dreamy. A word on the hosts. Claudia and Berkeley were super accommodative in allowing us to arrive a bit early to get the house decorated, and even allowed me to call an event planner to help decorate the house with balloons and flowers. The hosts were gracious enough to keep providing us with updates on the house with pictures, and even gave us a full house tour, with suggestions on how to decorate it. They fully understood how important the occasion was for us, and helped us out thoroughly, which even made us feel like they were a part of our day ! I would whole-heartedly recommend this place for anyone wanting to host a nice warm home-style beach party, and we will book this place in future !

Claudia is a pleasure to work with. I was delighted to rent her family’s lovely beach home for my professional photo shoot. The amenities are comfortable. The house is spacious and airy, with a short walk to the beach. I look forward to renting again when I can spend more time enjoying the space instead of working.
