Built in 1897, this historic home has been used as community hall, vaudeville theater, glass museum and church. The first floor features a 1400 square foot sanctuary (48 by 29 feet) originally built to accommodate town-hall meetings featuring 15 foot ceilings and a stage with space for antique footlights. Above the stage is a large mural, painted on a wooden canvas that was discovered hidden in the walls of the grand staircase during a restoration. Historic lamps are refurbished and beautifully hung from the ceilings over the stage to accentuate the space. Floors are heart pine from the original construction. The stage wings have been refashioned to accommodate a fully updated kitchen and butler‘s pantry. Features include Deft ceramic tile imported from the Netherlands, gorgeous marble countertops, state-of-the-art stainless steel appliances, and LCD dimmable lighting. The butler's pantry has matching marble countertops, a built-in wine rack, and glass-fronted cabinets. The converted upstairs, originally laid out to accommodate the Order's offices, features a dressing room and 2 guest bedrooms that can be separately rented via Airbnb en suite for overnight guest stays.

This place is amazing for parties! Very unique, beautiful and memorable experience with great accommodations. The owner Ruth is very helpful with planning, recommending catering, setting up the room, receiving the band and caterers and being flexible with last minute extension of the party. It was a perfect event !

From the moment I saw images of "Opré Glasso" - I thought that this could likely be the space for my party - charming, inviting, "warm." When I visited the space and met Ruth, I knew it was perfect. It is large enough for dancing, small group intimate gatherings throughout the space, great people-watching from the stage-like area - a lovely ambiance. Ruth was very accommodating and communicative, answering questions readily, adjusting things as the needs of my event changed. Dickeyville itself is charming, but the "magic" of the space goes to the synergistic engagement of this building's historic preservation, aesthetic upgrades (kitchens, bathroom), and definitely Ruth's touch. I know my birthday celebration was as lovely and enjoyable as it was, very much in part, because of this place/space.

We had a great time here. Ruth let us be flexible with schedule, which was crucial (her flexibility allowed us to be ahead of our packed schedule), and she gave us the space we needed on location, while still being easily accessible and quickly responsive to our needs. She also very accurately described the space before we arrived, which was crucial, since we were an out of town crew and unable to scout the spot in person beforehand. Other highlights include plenty of parking around the house, a very quiet location on a quiet road, and plenty of space. Would definitely book again – Ruth was great to work with.
