Deluxe Theater Room in East Village

The space is cool, but there is not enough support and too many things not ideal for this price. I luckily caught the building manager when I got there or I would not have gotten the code to the room. The projector worked ok but the audio did not work so I had to bring in my own speakers for sound. The air conditioning also did not work and it got very hot in the room with no way to adjust it. The lights were not able to be turned off which was unfortunate for watching a movie because it remained bright . The host said she would be unavailable the whole weekend and could not help, but there was no one else to contact with issues and the security was the only person there and was not able to help with much (not her job). A cool space to rent but be aware of the shortcomings of you do not have backup equipment or technical skills to get it working.

Honestly, the space is nice, however, there were a lot of issues. I went to the space the day before. I found parking with ease and the concierge was very helpful and prepped the space for us. The day of, when we came in, there was no parking anywhere remotely close due to a padres game and none of the guest parking they had instructed us about. Parking lots nearby were charging $80 to park. We had to go back home and uber back to the location. The code that was given to us didn't work at all. We had to wait to enter while we received a new code. The sound in the room did not work well, it was extremely hot in there and we couldn't control the temperature. Nor did anyone there know how to do it. The light dial was broken so we couldn't turn the lights on or off. That is the most CRITICAL part of a viewing experience. We were watching parts of the film with the lights on due to time. It took almost an hour to get in touch with someone who knew how to fix the lights and tech stuff. The security guard was very helpful in navigating these issues for us as he was our only contact available there. He was endlessly calling people to help us. However, for $260, this was an extremely unpleasant experience. It cut deeply into our time. I tried to call the contact number for Courtney and couldn't get a response. I called maintenance for the building and they hung up on me and said they couldn't help either. There should be a building contact, like the manager, accessible for situations like this. I think it's irresponsible to have a place like this listed for bookings when there a parts of the room that are not functioning and there is no one to contact it to fix it or navigate it. We left the room clean and made sure to document it just in case since there were a lot of faulty issues. Honestly, if they fix the lights, sounds, tech, and temp issue it would be an enjoyable experience. It just wasn't for us. It was a terrible hassle. Please look elsewhere.

We rented the space for our son's 18th birthday (6 boys). We had a lot of trouble getting our XBox to connect and display on the screen, due to the refresh rate setting. But once that was resolved (we had to take it home, change the setting and bring it back) the boys had a great time. They were able to watch movies and play video games on the big screen. Because this is located in a residential building, this media room is more for presentations than movies/games, so the sound system isn't the greatest and isn't all that loud. So don't expect a movie theater experience, exactly. At the end of the day, they boys had a great time and said they would definitely come back and do it again. The on site staff was also very friendly and helpful.

Unfortunately my experience with this booking was not great. There was no staff on site to assist with setting up the system to play the movie (a complex and not simple or user friendly system) and the staff who was there did not know how to help and was in a rush to get off her shift. Eventually after attempting to set this up on our own for 45 mins, we got it working, but obviously it dipped into our rental time. We were lucky that some people in our group had past experience with audio/sound equipment, otherwise it would have just never happened because no one was there to help. This was not something I would do again as it was unreliable and the service was not as described.

Great meeting space. The team really enjoyed and appreciated the unique, offsite meeting space. Staff present were really friendly. Entrance and finding the space was easy. The only thing I would recommend is providing some type of instructions to the electronics. We were able to connect directly to the projector on the ceiling and I brought a 10FT HDMI so we were able to connect just fine.

Great Space! Minor issues but everything worked out in the end.
