Charles D. booked a film shoot for 15 people
DO NOT RENT THIS LOCATION, the owner of this location is an absolut psychopath. He always aggressively yelled at crew members on set even when minors were around. He kept bothering crew members while they were working, and he was angry after I told him to talk to the producers instead of me, since i was directing. What seemed like a reasonable request, made him so angry that he insisted that I am not on set the following day. I was the director. After one of our professional crew members got valuable advice to not just use tennis balls under the light stands (which is industry standard), he thanked William with a genuine “Thank you sir”, to which William only replied(/yelled) “Don’t call me sir, I’m not the fking cops”. The day after we received our permit from film LA, we received numerous phone calls from neighbors, telling us don’t want us there, because THEY JUST HATE this man, since he apparently rented out his location as a porn location before. I wish I would have never rented this location if I knew he is such a psycho, he tried to ask for $3500 for two days, even though he lists the location on peerspace for $2500. When we were shooting on the street near this location, but nowhere on his property, he was trying to ask for more money because he thinks he owns the street, even though we had permits from FilmLA. Our film shoot went extremely well, but William tried everything in his power to sabotage us and scam us for more money wherever he could.
Tasia J. booked a video shoot for 10 people
Do not book this location. William was aggressive and hostile the entire shoot. He YELLED at everyone on my crew including the client and our actors as well as the band. He used profanity angrily and incessantly. I implore anyone considering this location to find another. It’s my responsibility as the producer to make sure my crew is safe and comfortable, I was unable to provide that to them here. I would have never rented this location if I knew he was to act this way. He tried to shake us down for more money afterwards (twice) which is against Peerspace rules. If you book this you’ll be receiving harassing calls from people in the neighborhood because this man can’t play nice with anyone. DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT rent this location. -space was dirty, even after being “cleaned” when we arrived -we filmed a music video - Williams communication via tex is vague. And via face to face is straight up hostile and Aggro.
Xavier R. booked a short film shoot for 8 people
My experience with William was great. He was easy to work with and set clear rules for the space and remained out of the way so that we could work. If there were ever any questions he was very responsive and able to answer or accommodate quickly.
Aura Q. booked a production for 15 people
good to work with
Antonio F. booked a production for 25 people
William's place is a classic, and has inherent qualities that are endearing. He is very hands-on, which is helpful when running a small job with little help to contain the sprawling nature of a shoot. He def keeps everyone honest, while being just flexible enough to let you do what you need to do throughout the day. He even gave us a little extra time free of charge when wrapping out at the end of the night. Space is a little tight and there are def rules to follow, but if you run a tight ship like I do, that's the least of your worries.
