This space operates as a Wine Bar at times, and as an event space at other times. Open, roomy and cozy, people often comment that it feels like an intimate lounge in someone's private residence. The Prescott area of Oakland is fast becoming a hip trendy place for urban professionals looking to be close to San Francisco, but far from the fog, the traffic, the crowds and the prices. Close to West Oakland BART, Jack London Square, the Bay Bridge, Bay Street and Downtown Oakland. Since this is an actual licensed Wine Bar, guests may want to structure their event around a wine-related theme. The host is a well-known Winemaker and Wine Expert, which may offer unique aspects and possibilities involving wine tasting seminars, themed wine selections or wine education. But, of course, there is no obligation to have wine play any part in the event. It just happens to be here, should you wish to include it. For company off-site meetings, we've offered blending and tasting seminars to end the day on a light, casual and friendly note. On Friday and Saturday nights, we are usually open for our regular customers, but if you really want to reserve the space on one of those evenings, we may be able to work out something. Send us a message. Regarding using the space for Birthday parties, Bachelor/Bachelorette parties, Wild Celebrations, etc., this may not be the best place. Given our proximity to residential units, we need to keep the noise down. The later it gets, the lower the volume needs to be. Don't expect to do a lot of dancing. But for an afternoon Bridal Shower, a fundraiser, an evening dinner party or a promotional wine-mixer, this place is perfect. If you require seating and tables for company seminars and educational events, we can move the couches and the bubble chair out of the way, for a larger open space in which to set up. Number of guests: here are some guidelines - Mostly Standing (company mixer, launch party, casual birthday party): 45 Standing and Sitting (small appetizer plates, holiday cocktail party, anniversary party) 30-35 Everyone Sitting (sit-down formal dinner, seated company presentation, paint and sip party) 20-25
No smoking, no pets without prior approval. No outside alcohol allowed. We sell wine and a simple assortment of non-alcoholic beverages. Our wine prices are reasonable. If you would like to pay for the wine in advance, or if you are looking for a special deal or particular wines, let us know in advance and we can give you a quote on that. Guests may bring food, or have it catered - we can provide simple things like peanuts and pretzels and chips, but we do not have a commercial kitchen and we cannot offer prepared foods - unfortunately that's the law. But we do offer simple kitchen amenities for warming and serving prepared food. The space is attached to a residential building, so music and noise must be kept to a reasonable level. Guests are not allowed access to the private residential areas of the complex. Although we may be serving wine, children under 21 may be allowed with adequate supervision if cleared with the host in advance. The host, or a representative, will be on site at all times. You may bring an iPod or other music source to use with our sound system, or you can make use of our Pandora account or log into your own Spotify account, but no outside sound systems or other noise producing devices are allowed. We need to control the volume. No one is allowed behind the bar or in the kitchen unless given permission by the attendant. This is an active business outside of Peerspace hours, so if you need extra time to set up or to clean up, you will need to reserve that time. If you need audio-visual equipment, let us know in advance, and for best results, give us a copy of the file or disc or dvd or whatever you have, in advance so we can test it. We may not be able to set up the required equipment on the day of your event.
Guests may cancel their Booking until 7 days before the event start time and will receive a full refund (including all Fees) of their Booking Price. Guests may cancel their Booking between 7 days and 24 hours before the event start time and receive a 50% refund (excluding Fees) of their Booking Price. The space is a hidden gem in West Oakland. Cool bubble chairs and couches. Cozy space was perfect for our 30 guests party. There are tables and chairs to use, and parking was pretty easy. Monty was very accommodating and easy to work with, and his bartender for our event was so awesome and fun! Thanks again!

monty was very responsive and accommodating. the space is very cool aesthetically. we had not checked out the property in-person before renting, and we were pleased. the "wine bar" is actually the downstairs portion (dining/living/kitchen) of monty's condo. we hosted a bridal shower with ~15 people. that was honestly the max i felt the space could comfortably fit seating-wise around the main couch area. there was an attendant, lucy, present during the rental time. she was seriously so awesome and useful! the kitchen/dining space was not clean before the rental time. there were boxes of wine that were left in the dining area which we had to move to make the space more presentable. theres a mini wine fridge in the dining area which we were told not to shift so we had to work around it. we were told by montys partner that we should not have moved some of the furniture around when in reality, im not sure if this was actually the cace (how can one be expected to rent a space without that type of flexibility?). there was a little glitch with the audio system but eventually we got it to work again after some frustration. admittedly, we were ran 30 mins over in our clean up and montys partner arrived at the space. we cleaned the space as best as we could but we did have some crumbs that were left on the floor, which we wouldve been happy to clean up if we had the right equipment. i dont think we were expected to do sweeping or mopping overall, thank you so much monty!
