Building History: In the early 1800s the Navy Yard was one of the largest employers in the city and for nearly the next 100 years the Lodge was mainly composed of craftsmen and workers from the Navy Yard and the market nearby. In 1893, Naval Lodge bought the current location and built its current building. Once the building was completed in 1895, it became a center of Masonic and community activity on Capitol Hill and Southeast Washington. Today it is the oldest Masonic building in the District that is still used for Masonic purposes. The host was kind, provided me with a genuine welcome during our venue tour. Issac and Rachel were very responsive thru the entire experience. Showing genuine care by following up with me and reminding me about the plans we talked about the placing of the tables and decorations. Their help and support during event was very helpful. I couldn’t be more happy with their amazing patronage and genuine care. The space was gorgeous!!! All my guests loved it! We did our wedding reception there. There were so many tables and chairs. The kitchen space was amazing, with one huge refrigerator and a large freezer. The host was so professional and genuine. My husband and I are very thankful on how much Issac, Rachel and Maurice have supported us thru the entire event. Thank you for being an amazing host and having a beautiful place for our wedding. You guys made me feel like part of your family.
