Building History: In the early 1800s the Navy Yard was one of the largest employers in the city and for nearly the next 100 years this Masonic Lodge was mainly composed of craftsmen and workers from the Navy Yard and the market nearby. In 1893, Naval Lodge bought the current location and built its current building. Once the building was completed in 1895, it became a center of Masonic and community activity on Capitol Hill and Southeast Washington. Today it is the oldest Masonic building in the District that is still used for Masonic purposes. The space is striking, beautiful and has an abundance of natural light that comes in through the windows. Isaiah and his team were very helpful and accommodating on the day of our photography session.

Birthday brunch for 50 people. Went smoothly. Hired outside DJ and caterer. Kitchen area to use and two bathrooms. Lots to steps and small elevator so be mindful of that for guests with heels or heavy supplies. But the venue’s team is more than helpful. Beautiful space. 10/10
