Re-energize in solace under the desert sky in this modern-bohemian dome, featuring many personally designed and handcrafted items. Stimulate your mind and spirit with natural wood and stone elements, and enjoy antique books and games while you take in sprawling mountain views by day and twinkling stars by night. The natural wood burning stove and space heaters warm the home on chilly evenings, and ample AC keeps the dome cool on hot desert days. Dome in the Desert has been featured in many magazines, including Condé Nast Traveler, Esquire Magazine, Goop, Refinery29, and Apartment Therapy.
Most importantly, enjoy the space, but please be respectful. We have included many personal items for your enjoyment including rare and antique items which we have collected over the years and would be very difficult to replace. - No smoking in or on the property - No pets - Do not sublet the property While on the property, please observe these rules: - Please park vehicle in front of house (close to front-door). Do not drive vehicle around side or rear of the property because the weight of your vehicle could damage or collapse plumbing water lines and septic tank! - The property uses a Septic System for waste disposal. Please do not discard anything in the sinks or toilet other than the provided, septic safe, toilet paper because it will clog (which means you will not be able to use the toilet, shower, and sink) - Please do not leave the wood burning stove unattended (for obvious reasons of course) - No outdoor fires - Please exercise extreme caution when operating the telescope - Please operate and safeguard the premises including, landscaping, furniture, furnishings, appliances and all mechanical, electrical and plumbing fixtures, and keep them clean and sanitary - Please do not hang anything off of our Joshua Tree (such as exercise equipment etc.) Joshua Trees are very fragile and might collapse. - Owner recommends that Occupant carry or obtain insurance to protect Occupant, guests and licensees and their personal property from any loss or damage. Your safety is EXTREMELY important so please follow these rules when accessing the loft: - Do not enter the loft if you feel unsafe in any way. Remember, you are using the loft at your own risk! - No shoes allowed in loft area - Four (4) people maximum in loft at any time - The loft ladder does not have a hand rail - Please exercise extreme caution when climbing up and down the ladder. It is recommended that you climb the ladder with a spotter (someone to assist you) either above or below to guarantee safe passage - The loft is equipped with a decorative rope railing - DO NOT lean against or pull on the rope! We recommend that you keep a safe distance of at least 18" from the railing to avoid the possibility of falling off the loft edge - Please refrain from standing or jumping in the loft - No minors are permitted on the ladder or in the loft without strict adult supervision! - Do not access the loft if intoxicated in any way! - Use general common sense when using the loft (don't jump or throw things over the edge, etc.) HOURLY RATE: Hourly Rate based on total number of people. CALCULATE HOURLY RATE: Hourly Rate is $180/hour for 4 people (10 hour minimum). Each added person is $25/hour. HOURLY RATES TABLE: (10 hour minimum) Hourly Rate is $180/hour for 4 total people ($1800) Hourly Rate is $205/hour for 5 total people ($2050) Hourly Rate is $230/hour for 6 total people ($2300) Hourly Rate is $255/hour for 7 total people ($2550) Hourly Rate is $280/hour for 8 total people ($2800) Hourly Rate is $305/hour for 9 total people ($3050) Hourly Rate is $330/hour for 10 total people ($3330) EXTRA CAST/CREW CHARGES: Extra, undeclared people on shoot day are charged at 1.5 x your per person rate, therefore be accurate in your initial booking request. 10 people max (no exceptions). SITE REP FEE: $300 CLEANING FEE: $200 SECURITY DEPOSIT: $2000 (refundable if there's no damage to our property) PRODUCTION COORDINATOR: We ask for a single point of contact for the production on the shoot day. Please inform us who will serve as the Production Coordinator and provide us her/his contact information. The Production Co-ordinator must read and understand our House Rules. INSURANCE REQUIRED: The Guest/Renter will need to submit a General Liability Insurance Certificate showing owners name and the property address as additionally insured certificate holder (contact us for more details.) Also, please be sure to include proof of Workers Comp. insurance. Many times it is a separate policy. If you don't have Workers Comp. insurance you will need to sign a waiver upon arrival. If you are a small production and don't have insurance please let us know and we will find a work around. NOISE: When outside, please be sensitive to and respect our neighbors and refrain from playing loud music or shouting. OVERTIME: Overtime rate is 1.5 x your prorated hourly rate. Overtime is calculated in minimum 1/2 hour increments. DRONES: No drones are permitted. CHILDREN: Property must be alerted to any children. Children must either have a babysitter or be supervised by their legal guardian. SHOOT DATES: Weekdays. We rarely rent for the weekend. OVERNIGHT STAYS: Photoshoot rates do not include overnight stays. PARKING: We can accommodate up to 8 cars total. All other vehicles will have to be parked off site. Please carpool. FURNITURE/DECOR: Do not move any large furniture pieces. If small decor items are moved, please place them back where you found them. MISCELLANEOUS: Producer shall require that all crew/cast/subcontractors obey the reasonable directions of the location site representative(s) as relates to protection of the property and failure to do so shall be a breach of this agreement.
Guests may cancel their Booking until 7 days before the event start time and will receive a full refund (including all Fees) of their Booking Price. Guests may cancel their Booking between 7 days and 24 hours before the event start time and receive a 50% refund (excluding Fees) of their Booking Price. Booking cancellations submitted less than 24 hours before the Event start time are not refundable. Learn more
