The staff at Jay Suites were very helpful and polite. One of them loaned me a charger cord when mine stopped working and they were adept at setting up our zoom link. The room we rented was suitable for our needs - first floor and good location. Sound was okay, not great. Unfortunately, the on site booking system and the PeerSpace software do not talk to each other so there was a lot of confusion about the snack package we had ordered and paid for - staff telling me it didn't exist when I had receipt showing I had paid for it. In the end, the "recharge" snack we paid for wasn't worth what we paid. Bring your own snacks and save the money. Seriously. Finally, during our meeting there was a mouse running back and forth in the hallway just beyond the glass meeting doors. It was a distraction for our guests and made me wonder how clean the meeting spaces were.

The host was very personable when I spoke to him, but difficult getting in touch with him initially. Space was nice which is why I waffled between 2-3 stars. I was told I would receive communication from staff and never did. A couple of days before our event, he offered us an upgrade to a bigger suite free of charge. He failed to mention it was 20 blocks away and in a different area. All our guests were already booked at hotels within walking distance of the first location. When I noticed the address change, he had already booked the first room we reserved - it felt like he moved us bc he already had someone who wanted the other space while the one we used would have just sat empty. Also, you're better off taking a lunch break and getting food out at a restaurant. I know NYC prices and yes, things are spendy, but the quality and service was terrible. We spent $822 on the equivalent to subway sandwiches for 40 people. They were smashed together on 3 plates and had packages of mayo or mustard to apply ourselves like we were at a convenience store or fast food. We also paid for a refresh snack and it was just packaged cookies. We were told we couldn't have any drinks and the host at the location refused to make more coffee for our guests when we offered to even pay more. She also didn't return my email regarding some questions. One staff member was nice on location, but the other was downright rude to our guests. We won't be rebooking for additional meetings.
