About the Space

This bright, spacious studio provides a supportive production space for all kinds of creative projects. With a large floor area 25'x 23', dressing room, sitting area and large south facing windows, the studio is a photographers dream come true! The windows have sheer and black-out curtains to modify the light. The space is equipped with a large selection of posing benches, chairs, colored seamless backdrops, light stands, reflectors, event tables and chairs. Studio includes a parking space plus available guest and street parking. The space is ideal for photographers, videographers and workshop hosts.

Lighting description

There is a large wall of south facing windows with white sheer and black-out curtains to modify the light. Natural light in the winter hours is best between 10-4pm, Summer/Fall has light from 9am-9pm.

Space is not soundproof

Ambient noise description

The businesses in the building are quiet with no outside noises. If there is sound from a neighboring space, they are easy to communicate with and happy to accommodate. The air vent is separate in each space, so it can be shut-off. Videographers have said that there is minimal echo in the space and many productions have made successful recordings. Most businesses on the 5th floor are not there on Saturdays and Sundays.

Equipment loading description

There are areas to unload near the lobby doors. Space provides an extendable rolling cart for bringing gear upstairs. There are two elevators, both for passengers: one medium size and one extra large loading carts.

There is a small dressing & make-up area with a curtain.

All rooms are available for shooting

Shooting the exterior of the building is allowed

Electrical system description

The circuit box is located in the studio's storage room. There are 3 outlet boxes with two plug-ins per box in the main shooting area. Electrical stripes and extensions cords are available on site. There are also outlets in the dressing room and guest lounge.

General Rules

STUDIO POLICIES * Cancellation/Rescheduling is governed by Peerspace policy. * Paper rolls are NOT to be removed from the wall mounts. For additional seamless colors, use the portable backdrop stand. DO NOT cut or tear the papers. * Do NOT tape anything on walls, it peels the paint. Also do not use tacks. * No glitter, confetti, body oil, flour or loose materials allowed in the studio. * There are no pets allowed in the studio without permission from manager. *Alcohol for events allowed only with a permit. NO DRUGS of any kind.

Furniture and decorations may be moved

The studio provides a large selection of sofas, benches, posing chairs, rugs and plants. All items can be used for your production but must be put-back into place as specified in the cleaning instructions.

No smoke machines allowed

Recording devices in bathrooms or dressing rooms are prohibited by the Peerspace Services Agreement.

Enhanced Health and Safety Measures

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS IN EFFECT - Limits to group size to help maintain practices of working at a distance - Renters are encouraged to wear masks while working - Detailed cleanings with bleach to disinfect handles, light switches and surfaces - Renters are beings asked to use bleach cleaning spray & towels to wipe surfaces following their sessions - New air filters have been installed in the vents - The New York building has added extra daily cleanings to wipe elevator buttons & door handles - Renters are asked to wash hands and practice good hygiene - Renters and thier clients who are not feeling well should stay home

Enhanced cleaning measures:

The space is cleaned and disinfected in accordance with guidelines from local health authorities
High touch surfaces and shared amenities have been disinfected

All hosts are required to do the following prior to each booking:

Sweep, mop, vacuum and clean the space.
Supply a hand washing station with soap, warm water, and paper towels or hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
Clean common areas allowing guest access including bathrooms, kitchens, and entrances.
Collect and clean dishes, silverware, and other provided host amenities, if applicable.
Remove garbage and add new lining to cans.

The following equipment is provided for every guest:

Hand Sanitizer

SO obsessed with this space, will definitely be back for future shoots :) A portrait photographers DREAM. Has literally everything i could have needed.
