Clean common areas allowing guest access including bathrooms, kitchens, and entrances.
Collect and clean dishes, silverware, and other provided host amenities, if applicable.
Remove garbage and add new lining to cans.

The home was built in 1868 and has undergone a 15-year renovation to restore it to its original condition. When you step onto the property and into the home, you'll feel that you've stepped back in time. This home and its five-acre estate are perfect for photo shoots and locations for film. This home comes with history: it was built by a family of Spiritualists and it is the site of the case of the "Watseka Wonder," a bizarre case of healing through possession that took place at the home in 1878. The home is located in Watseka, IL, 90 miles south of downtown Chicago.

Lighting description

South-facing windows run from floor to ceiling in the front parlor and the mother's bedroom upstairs. Other south-facing windows are five-feet tall. Light at sunset will enter in through west-facing windows in the dining room, the third (west) bedroom upstairs, and the window above the front staircase. All of the windows mentioned above (except the window above the staircase) have functioning shutters that close. However, this will not block all light. The time period that is brightest for south-facing windows is from noon to 3 p.m. The time that is brightest for west-facing windows is at sunset.

Space is soundproof

Ambient noise description

This house is on the edge of town facing the countryside. The walls of the home are three bricks thick, making it very insulated from sound. The nearest neighbors are 200 feet away. The street is not busy at all, but train whistles can sometimes be heard when they run through town.

Equipment loading description

The west garage has about 250 sq ft of useable space and can be used to load in and store equipment. It is empty and can be locked. Loading trucks do not need to be moved once on the property. The house sits on five acres, with ample parking on the street and in the field behind and next to the house.

Staging area is available

Talent can use any of the bedrooms upstairs or a back office/spare bedroom space upstairs above the kitchen that was originally servants' quarters.

Electrical system description

200 amp service with outlets per code on every wall, no less than ten feet apart throughout the house. The circuit breaker is in the basement below the kitchen. Very easily accessible.

- No smoking or drinking are allowed in the home. - Any film or photography crews must take care to make sure that no damage is done to this restored home. - Furniture can only be moved by the host upon request. - Trash should be placed in the bins and the host will take care of the rest. - Guests must provide additional insurance. - All rentals include set up and teardown time. Please inquire for details about staffing.

All Bookings are subject to Peerspace’s Grace Period policy which provides a full refund for Bookings cancelled within 24 hours from receipt of a Booking Confirmation but no later than 48 hours prior to the Event start time.

Flexible

Guests may cancel their Booking until 7 days before the event start time and will receive a full refund (including all Fees) of their Booking Price. Guests may cancel their Booking between 7 days and 24 hours before the event start time and receive a 50% refund (excluding Fees) of their Booking Price.
