About the Space

Our office is great for small video and photo shoots. We use the space for our own educational productions but when we have down time, we make the space available for others to use. It is a 1,450 sq ft medical office that we flipped to make a bit more accommodating to shooting video. The unit features a large patient/hospital room, an exam room, a lab/general purpose area, nurse's station, hallways, ADA compliant bathroom, a small lobby, and a kitchenette area (which we usually use for craft services). The unit is stocked with supplies and working medical equipment, including medical air/oxygen, suction, vital signs, ultrasound, ICU monitor, and more. Our typical shoot is about 12-15 people and it fits pretty well in this suite. A crew of about 20-25 is max capacity for the space. The place is located about 25 minutes south of Philadelphia right off of I-95. It is a fairly quiet office, set-back from the street. Limited parking is available on site. We charge $175 per hour for use of the suite, with a 4-hour minimum rental. All medical equipment in the suite is available for use with the rental. We also have a rack of scrubs, lab coats, and patient gowns which are available for use. We also provide production services should you need technical help with your project. We offer a full range of production services from scripting and casting to shooting and editing. Pricing varies depending on the services needed.

Parking description

There is a small lot in the back of the building. We can take about 8 spots or so when there is a shoot. There are other tenants in the building. The rest is street parking.

Lighting description

2 of the rooms (patient room and exam room) have windows with blinds on them. The patient room windows can be blocked out from the outside - that room is on the ground floor. The exam room can be blocked as well but those windows are up higher and more difficult to access.

Space is not soundproof

Ambient noise description

We are in a quiet building, set back from the street, but there is no soundproofing. You can hear the occasional exterior noise but not terrible. Neighbor noise is minimal. There is no one above us. The AC in the unit is audible and is typically shut off when shooting with audio, which is not a problem.

Equipment loading description

There is a handicap ramp in the front of the building to load equipment in from or a small set of stairs from the back. This ramp can not be blocked by any trucks. Trucks need to unload the gear and clear the space.

Staging area is available

We have a kitchen area and a small lobby area we often use as a green room. There is also an empty suite next door that could potentially be added on for larger shoots.

All rooms are available for shooting

Shooting the exterior of the building is not allowed

Electrical system description

Standard 120 voltage outlets throughout. Each room is on it's own circuit, some have multiple circuits. We added more circuits in when we moved in to handle a larger power load. We have never had an issue on any shoots with power for lighting or gear.

General Rules

This is a working commercial building. There are other doctor's offices, therapists, and businesses in this building so the crew does need to be fairly discreet and not overly obtrusive in the common areas. The parking lot is shared so I need to know approximately how many cars are coming so I can arrange alternate parking in the lot next door if needed. Larger shoots are better accommodated on weekends when possible as the building (and parking lot) is usually empty then. No smoking in the suite and all the usual rules apply. Any specific or unusual requests required for the production need to be approved first.

Enhanced Health and Safety Measures

Our studio is a medical office so it is already stocked with soap, hand sanitizer pumps, and assorted PPE (gloves, gowns, masks, etc) for our guests to use. Before and after every shoot the studio is cleaned by our staff following CDC guidelines. All hard and soft surfaces are cleaned and disinfected with extra focus on high touch areas. Disinfectant sprays and cleaners are also available for our guests should they be needed during the rental.

Enhanced cleaning measures:

High touch surfaces and shared amenities have been disinfected
Bookings are spaced apart to allow for enhanced cleaning
The space is cleaned and disinfected in accordance with guidelines from local health authorities

All hosts are required to do the following prior to each booking:

Sweep, mop, vacuum and clean the space.
Supply a hand washing station with soap, warm water, and paper towels or hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
Clean common areas allowing guest access including bathrooms, kitchens, and entrances.
Collect and clean dishes, silverware, and other provided host amenities, if applicable.
Remove garbage and add new lining to cans.

Disposable masks / face coverings
Hand Sanitizer

I am an independent film maker and at first I thought that it was a little on the pricey side but I am soooo happy that I decided to use this facility. Chris is an awesome host. He made sure we had everything we needed. The facility was clean and well stocked. Chris made filming easy and it’s definitely worth every dollar!! I would definitely utilize this facility again and recommend it to anyone doing a medical scene.

The space was really really great! There were so many props and items that we were able to use which was perfect. Chris and Ed were both super nice and helped us move some things around when needed, but then let us just do our thing. We personally ran into trouble with a lot of lawn work being done outside, so next time I would probably book the space in the evening, as it's really not something able to be controlled. The office itself is quiet - but the neighbors were very active! Would definitely book again (and will).
