I'm thrilled to offer this light-filled, 3-story row home and perennial garden and welcome a variety of functions. PLEASE READ ENTIRE LISTING AND RULES BEFORE MESSAGING. Provide an overview of your Event Plan in your booking inquiry (include reason for event, food/beverage vision and budget, general information about attendees, music/sound, and any other relevant information). A more detailed Event Plan will be developed once preliminary details have been discussed. All guests must sign a service contract and submit a security deposit within 48 hours of finalizing the reservation on Peerspace but no less than 24 hours prior to the start of the reservation. The Shaw Garden House is a unique space and ideal location for garden parties or cocktail hour in the spring, summer, and fall. A modern living area and deck lead down to an amazing garden space, making it a great place for small receptions and parties. PLEASE NOTE: Outside food and beverages or caterers are not permitted. Renters must use in-house chef, SaltSugarFire. COVID Protocols: • Indoor events are limited to 10 guests (cumulative total including all staff and contractors). Indoor/Outdoor events are back to 25! • All out of state travelers will be required to get a COVID test within 72 hours of the reservation start time and must provide documentation of negative results to be admitted. • For public invitation and ticketed events, guests will be required to wear a mask for the duration of the event unless they are eating/drinking. Facilities: • full kitchen w/ dinnerware and utensils for up to 15 • 2 bedrooms to accommodate some overnight needs (inquire for details) • 2.5 bathrooms, 1 on each floor (no bathtubs, standing showers only) • living room with down-filled sofa and • WiFi throughout (basic speed package included free; higher bandwidth packages available) • Standard table height seating for 15 (non-matching indoor and outdoor tables and chairs) + 4 bar-height seats included with your booking; additional and matching seating and tables available for rent with at least 72 hours advance notice • Filtered water + regular coffee included; snacks, food, and beverage services through SaltSugarFire private chef services available - see sample packages in "Add-on's" and contact host to discuss your options • 2 Roku Smart TVS (1 mounted in main floor living room, 1 32" free-standing in 2nd floor bedroom) • Propane grill Included by Request: • Apple TV • Printer (available free for light use; extensive printing or premium print supplies available for a fee) Custom Services (additional fees apply): • Custom Private Chef Packages (food and beverage) by SaltSugarFire, Private Chef Services (SaltSugarFire.com) • Dedicated, on-site attendant/server • Bartender • Security/Bouncer/Doorperson • Event Design Planner Optional Amenities (additional fees apply) • Integrated audio (the entire house is wired for sound; receiver available to rent) • A/V rental options • Concierge services • 10'x10' tent rental • Sun shade rental • Coat/Wardrobe rack rental Let me know what you need and I'll do my best to coordinate the arrangements (advance notice may be required). Standard hours of operation are as listed but earlier hours may be possible for an additional fee. Events must end and all guests exit by 11pm. Cleanup/breakdown may extend until 12am. The property is located within walking distance (less than 10 minutes) from the Shaw/Howard Metro Station. No parking on site. Street parking is limited and restricted for permit-holding residents 7 days a week. Paid lot nearby listed on SpotHero. Uber/Lyft are readily available. The entrance is located up a half flight of steps and the garden is accessed down a half flight of steps. This property is not wheelchair accessible and may be difficult to navigate for guests with certain disabilities. All renters must sign a service contract and submit a security deposit (security deposit amount ranges from $500-1000 based on total number of guests and duration of event). Event liability insurance and other additional licensing or certifications may be required at the host's sole discretion but will be discussed in detail prior to finalizing your reservation. Property will be opened by management at the designated setup time. Client will have open access to the unit starting at the designated event time. Guests not involved in setup/preparations are not permitted until the event's designated start time as defined in service contract. Host will notify you in person 30 minutes prior to your reservation end time to assist with any cleanup and closing instructions and lock up the property behind you. ALL guests must exit the property at the designated end time. Additional hours will be charged in 30-minute increments at the hourly rate specified in the service contract, payable immediately.

Guests may cancel their Booking until 90 days before the event start time and will receive a full refund (including all Fees) of their Booking Price. Guests may cancel their Booking between 90 days and 14 days before the event start time and receive a 50% refund (excluding Fees) of their Booking Price. I decided to hold a private dinner in the garden space for my 29th Birthday and Jennifer knocked it out of the park. Not only was she extremely responsive and communicative throughout the process but was transparent about her concerns and suggestions throughout the process. She also provided pictures and photos of the garden so that my decor team would know what to do and how to utilize the space. The add ons were great as well as the weather took a turn the week of my event and we ended up utilizing her heaters. Upon connecting me with her preferred caterer, SaltSugarFire, she ensured me that I was in great hands. She couldn't have been more correct. Jenna was AMAZING! I was able to send her details about what I was interested in having for my appetizers, cocktails and as a main course...she was one of the best chefs I've personally worked with and Im an event planner. Not only was the food delicious, the service was excellent and she and Laia (our server) even dressed to fit the theme of my party. I could not have asked for a better experience and would absolutely book again. Thank you, Jennifer, Jenna and Laia for making my birthday one for the books. My friends can not stop talking about it :)

The Shaw Garden House was the perfect location for our intimate wedding. The garden was a beautiful backdrop both day and night. We got married right at sunset and the transition was amazing with the gorgeous lights strung throughout the backyard. It felt so whimsical and romantic. The food provided by SaltSugarFire was outstanding. The chef, Jenna, was so responsive throughout the whole process and helped create a unique menu to fit our needs and special requests. In addition to all this, we rented the rooms inside for a few of our out of town family members which was a major perk of this venue over others. I could not recommend the Shaw Garden House more highly.

I can't even begin to describe how amazing my experience with Jenna and her garden house was. I was scrambling to find a last minute elopement venue due to coronavirus, and she totally saved our wedding. Jenna was incredibly responsive, and went absolutely above and beyond to give us the best backyard elopement possible. The garden was absolutely STUNNING - she did such a great job cleaning it up for us, working with our florist, etc. In addition, she provided FANTASTIC catering and beverage procurement services. The food and drinks were absolutely delicious and affordable. She was so flexible and accommodating (we rented it on her birthday!), and again the house and garden was just absolutely perfect. If I ever had any reason to come back (or hire Jenna for catering) I would 100% do it!!!
