SMOKING: There is no smoking anywhere inside or astound or property. If you must smoke you must do so outside at the end of the driveway.
MUSIC: Per Yucca Valley’s noise ordinance laws no guest shall play any amplified music, instruments, use digital sound devices, or create such sound as will disturb the peace between 10PM and 7AM daily and the sound made is not to amplify past the immediate backyard seating area. At any other hour we will ask that guests keep their music inside the home with the doors and windows shut.
NOISE: In the event of a nuisance complaint the following action will be taken. If there is a complaint about noise, music, or anything loud or objectionable both within the timeframe regulated for quiet, as well as for general “good neighbor” behavior, guests will receive an immediate call both from Blue River Management as well as from us, (the homeowners). If the problem is not resolved within 20 minutes we will send the managers to our home. If guests do not immediately and fully comply they will be told to vacate the premises and our management team (and law enforcement) will remove them promptly. Please note that we take noise complaints very seriously. People come to the desert to relax and to find peace and quiet. Do not play loud music or you will receive a call from us.
PLUMBING RESTRICTIONS: Much of the high desert is not connected to sewer but runs on a septic tank. Our home is one such property. This means two things. First, you CANNOT use anything inorganic for laundry detergent, dishwashing soap, body-wash, shampoo, etc. Additionally, you cannot put anything into sinks/water supply that contains bleach or ammonia. Under no circumstances are you to use anything that is not labeled “septic safe”. This applies to toilet paper as well. Basically, non septic toilet paper won’t dissolve in the tank, and anything with toxins, chemicals, bleach, or ammonia will kill the good bacteria in the tank and cause all the plumbing to fail. If this occurs you will be liable for replacing the septic tank and this is not a cheap fix! So please be mindful and DO NOT use any commercial, non inorganic, chemical soaps anywhere in the house. You can find the septic safe notation on the back of all cleaning detergents. Also, do not throw paper towels, face wipes, or baby wipes down the toilet. Not only will it destroy the septic tank but it will clog the works and you will be charged for all fixes.
DOORS AND CRITTERS: The high desert is home to a variety of cute critters including bunnies, roadrunners, chipmunks, and owls, (many of which you’ll see around our property). It is also home to a large number of mice, rats, snakes, scorpions, and various insects, all of whom are either escaping the heat, or each other. Please DO NOT leave windows and doors open. Desert mice can squeeze into a hole the width of half a dime and will nest in tiny openings if given the chance, and scorpions move at night and can move through an opening as small as a credit card. While we use a monthly and weekly service to keep our less pleasant critters at bay, do us and yourselves a favor and don’t leave anything open, particularly in the evenings.
HOT TUB/POOL:
The same rules apply to the above ground pool. Do not leave it open and unattended when not in use. You’d be surprised at how many animals will look for shelter in a watery opening. When you are not using the pool, make sure the cover is on and that everything is turned off.
NUMBER OF ALLOWABLE GUESTS: During the daytime you will be limited to 12 individuals as again defined by the local city ordinance. Cars during the daytime are not to exceed a maximum of 12, and cars at night are not to exceed a maximum of 8. There is paved driveway, as well as a circular driveway to accommodate your vehicles. However, our property really does not comfortably hold more than 6-8 cars so please do not overcrowd the space. We ask that you help us keep our home running smoothly and do not violate the local ordinance. We are not a party house. We are a relaxing and serene getaway and a place to decompress. Please respect the quiet and privacy of the neighbors and keep our space tranquil.
