The Campbell Dome House is a wholly unique, mid-century modern masterpiece. The Schwedler Dome structure was built in 1968 by Bob D. Campbell and features a tropical courtyard, in-ground pool, and a classic mid-century modern aesthetic. The interior space features an open layout with large living room, galley kitchen, sitting room and dining room.
The house features floor to ceiling windows that look out into the courtyard, bringing the outside inside and vice versa. The courtyard is south facing and receives direct sunlight all year keeping the space comfortable year-round. In the summer, the sun is too high in the sky to shine directly in the courtyard, producing prefect lighting on sunny days. The result is a lush, green space filled with light and plants of every variety - including a 25 foot tall rubber tree, banana tree, an orange tree and numerous cacti.
The home and courtyard are perfect for photo shoots, film shoots, small gatherings, business retreats, and any other low-key activity you may be planning. You have to see it to believe that this gem has been tucked away in old downtown Overland Park for more than 50 years.
