About the Space

DAYLIGHT STUDIO IN LEASIDE The light filled studio is perfect suited for photographers, video productions and artists. -> FULL day bookings required on the WEEKENDS, no exceptions. Bright, open industrial space conveniently located at 28 Industrial Street (Eglinton & Laird) in Leaside. This accessibly priced studio features with 450 square feet of working space, 12' high ceilings, and large 7' x 9' south facing window (with black-out blinds) and HAC. The 650 square foot studio includes a 3-piece washroom and kitchenette with bar fridge, microwave, kettle & coffeemaker. Free & ample parking in front of building. NOTE: -> HOURLY rentals, 3 hour minimum, ONLY available weekdays. -> FULL day bookings required on the WEEKENDS. STUDIO RENTAL INCLUDES: The equipment below comes standard with the studio rental. All equipment may be removed upon ADVANCED request. 4 large light stands 3 small light stands 1 "C" stand, with knuckle & two grip arms 1 telescopic background pole 2 "V" flats “A” clamps (4 large & 6 medium) 4 sandbags, 2 full apple boxes Garment rack and steamer Mirror 14" x 50" (movable) 1 six-foot tables (with table cloths) 1 four-foot table (suitable for make-up) 6 chairs and 2 stools 3 AC cables three step stepladder 1 fan Bluetooth speaker WiFi Continuous Lighting Package: Two 20"x30" softboxes, with diffusers. Each softbox was four 150W Daylight balanced blubs, total 600W.. ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT: Additional equipment is also included with the studio rental but must be requested in ADVANCE: 2 master stands, 2 small stands, 2 grip arms with 1 knuckles, 1 boom on rolling stand, 1 telescopic background pole, 6 sandbags, 2 six foot work tables, 16 chairs, 1 fan and a eight-foot ladder. NOSEAM: White noseam $9/linear foot. ACCESS: The studio is located on the second floor with stair access only. PROHIBITED USE: Live or DJ music or High intensity/loud music video productions or use. SOUND RECORING: Please note that the space is not sound proof and both interior and exterior sounds and noises may be heard.

Enhanced Health and Safety Measures
Enhanced cleaning measures:
  • High touch surfaces and shared amenities have been disinfected
  • Soft, porous materials have been properly cleaned or removed
All hosts are required to do the following prior to each booking:
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum and clean the space.
  • Supply a hand washing station with soap, warm water, and paper towels or hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
  • Clean common areas allowing guest access including bathrooms, kitchens, and entrances.
  • Collect and clean dishes, silverware, and other provided host amenities, if applicable.
  • Remove garbage and add new lining to cans.
The following equipment is provided for every guest:
  • Disinfecting wipes or spray and paper towels
  • Hand Sanitizer

The studio was great and perfect for our shoot! Very spacious and clean and the daylight was amazing. Horst was also very helpful in giving us a tour when we arrived. Will definitely book again!

The Daylight Studio is one of the best minimalist spaces I've worked in: clean walls and floors, high ceilings, more than enough room to shoot full body with an 85mm portrait lens. Owner/Host is super friendly and attentive. Definitely recommended.

Horst's studio was clean and bright and perfect for our day of costume fittings! It also had a mini fridge and microwave which came in really handy when we had our break. The location was central, close to the DVP and the free parking was an added bonus. Would definitely book it again.

Horst is a great host, his experience and expertise as a pro photographer have inspired the format of his studio. The space is perfect, particularly for those who appreciate the minimalist aesthetic. It's a joy to shoot in this studio, will definitely book it again.
