Enhanced COVID-19 Health & Safety Measures

We are a glassblowing facility. The areas are separated between observation areas and working areas with painted floor markings. We provide masks for both areas. In the working areas we provide both glassblowing safety gear (eyewear, hearing, gloves where applicable) and covid related safety gear (individual mouthpieces for blowpipes). All gear/benches/equipment are whipped down between use.

Enhanced cleaning measures:

The space is cleaned and disinfected in accordance with guidelines from local health authorities
High touch surfaces and shared amenities have been disinfected
Soft, porous materials have been properly cleaned or removed
Bookings are spaced apart to allow for enhanced cleaning

All hosts are required to do the following prior to each booking:

Sweep, mop, vacuum and clean the space.
Supply a hand washing station with soap, warm water, and paper towels or hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
Clean common areas allowing guest access including bathrooms, kitchens, and entrances.
Collect and clean dishes, silverware, and other provided host amenities, if applicable.
Remove garbage and add new lining to cans.

The following equipment is provided for every guest:

Disinfecting wipes or spray and paper towels
Disposable gloves
Disposable masks / face coverings
Hand Sanitizer

The space has the following features:

About the Space

The space is a production Glassblowing Studio one block off the ocean on the Monterey Peninsula. We make commissioned art and installation pieces. We also have a small showroom and conference space for classes and design session. We different types of private and corporate events: - classes and pubic events - group events - parties - corporate events - artist demos - photoshoots We are happy to allow photographers looking for industrial space to use ours after hours, or during working hours if they are looking for an industrial background providing it does not interfere with operations. We have approximately 800 sq ft of reconfigurable storefront up front which is used to host events, classes, etc.

Space has natural light

Lighting description

The building is an industrial building with no windows other than in a single small room at the front of the building. We have a very tall (18'?) rollup door which lets in a lot of natural light. This can be closed when no natural light is desired.

Space is not soundproof

Ambient noise description

The major noise in the building is the industrial equipment of the facility. When running the furnaces put out a good amount of white noise. there are also overhead roof fans and an over-furnace vent hood that can hum but canned be turned down/off. Street is pretty quiet and neighbors are another light industrial manufacturer that is also very quiet.

Crew access

Ground Floor

Equipment loading description

Giant rollup door (see pictures) with drive in access. We do not have a loading dock. Trucks up to 53' can be parked in front of the facility while in use. But should be moved if they are staying their for a prolonged period.

Staging area is available

We have an upstairs conference room with window's over the space. Floor is unfinished plywood but it is otherwise clean.

Some rooms are off-limits for shooting

Our upstairs has two offices and a fablab (3d printers/cnc's) which will be off limits.

Shooting the exterior of the building is allowed

Electrical system description

We have A LOT of electrical in this building and our equipment is very sensitive. We run industrial equipment on 480v, 240v and standard 110v. Guests can use any 110v, but not the 240/480 without prior permission. The 100 panel is up front and easily accessible by guests. They can flip any of these circuits they need and no harm will be done if they flip. But no one should touch the 240 or 480 panels which are well marked and located at the back of the building.

General Rules

Rules: - Outside catering and alcohol is allowed - We can arrange catering or set-up/clean up - The facility has sound a Sonos system for regular background music. Contact us prior if live music is to be used. - Live glassblowing or artist demo's must be pre-arranged

All ages are allowed in the space

Production insurance is not required

Furniture and decorations may be moved

Glass art can be moved by us in advance. Tables in the storefront are made to be moved around and guests can feel free to rearrange. No industrial equipment should be moved (glassblowing equipment inside the yellow marked lines on the floor.

No smoke machines allowed

No nudity allowed

Security cameras and recording devices

Ring security cameras for business security inside the building and out.

Recording devices in bathrooms or dressing rooms are prohibited by the Peerspace Services Agreement.
