Photo opportunities with my many animals are the draw for many who wish to use them as their backdrop for photo sessions. A horse with a giant personality, friendly nosy goats and feisty piglets are the charming characters that call my farm home. On 7 acres in the Sierra Nevada foothils, nearby Yosemite National Park my farm is home to many rescued animals from peacocks, ducks and turkeys to playful goats, horse and alpacas. Incredible views of the foothills are plentiful and photo ops are also available from my front porch. All photo opportunities are outside, weather dependent. We can offer animal tours only for a discounted rate. Arrive at the homestead grab a coffee, fruit or scone before our tour. Visit animal enclosures armed with carrots as the animals come and visit. The horse & goats love carrots & grapes, the pigs will eat just about anything. Inside the chicken enclosure baby chicks can be held if mommy hen permits. See mother hens with chicks & more sitting on eggs ready to hatch out babies. Treats can be offered as the eager hens gather around looking for their favorite snacks. Just sitting back and watching the animals feed and engage with each other is fascinating. Fair warning, some enclosures have rocky unleveled terrain. Safety guidelines must be respected so that the experience is safe for the animals and the visitors. At any time of year there are many rescued animals that live here harmoniously. The raised bed gardens provide vegetables, herbs used to feed the household and animals. Large compost piles give us beautiful black rich compost each spring to produce our abundant garden and the circle of life is illustrated in a rich tapestry at the Kitty Hotel, a modest homestead. 100% of your fee goes toward the upkeep and care of the animals.
