All hosts are required to do the following prior to each booking:
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum and clean the space.
  • Supply a hand washing station with soap, warm water, and paper towels or hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
  • Clean common areas allowing guest access including bathrooms, kitchens, and entrances.
  • Collect and clean dishes, silverware, and other provided host amenities, if applicable.
  • Remove garbage and add new lining to cans.

The following equipment is provided for every guest:
  • Disinfecting wipes or spray and paper towels
  • Hand Sanitizer

The space has the following features:
  • Capacity is limited based on governmental guidelines
  • Space has been reconfigured to allow for physical distance

About the Space

Welcome to Canarts Media! We'd like to invite you to visit our content creators studio situated at the heart of downtown Toronto. Perfect for: •PRODUCTION: photo shoots, video, TV, film, podcast, interviews, social media content. •WORKSHOPS: acting, music, private classes •WORKSPACE: corporate meetings, office space •EVENTS: We are only hosting events of up to 25 people NOTE: bookings of over 10 people pay a group fee is $50 Features: •1100 square ft multi-purpose space. •Open floor plan •10' high ceilings • Multi-colour LED lighting controlled by Ipad •65'' Smart TV with Spotify, Netflix, and Amazon Prime. • HD projector and 2 large speakers •5 large windows and lots of natural light •Hair and makeup station •Fully furnished using modern designer furniture •Beautiful living wall •High-speed Guest WIFI •Coat rack and hangers •Heating and air conditioning •two-stall gender neutral washroom. Furniture included: •3 desks/console tables •1 dining table •14 Side chairs •2 lounge chairs •1 sofa •3 coffee tables •1 sideboard •2 bar stools The kitchen is equipped with: •Fridge •Microwave •Cooktop •Nespresso Coffee maker •Kettle •Kitchen utensils CAPACITY: maximum 25 people allowed RULES: -No smoking of any kind is allowed in the studio. -No cooking or food warmer device allowed (any catering and food must be delivered already cooked and only the microwave can be used to warm food) -No glitter or confetti -No Candle wax dripped on floor or other surfaces -All activity must be contained within the unit; no activity permitted in the hallways PRICING: Monday to Thursday: Minimum 2 hours. $100hour +$80 cleaning fee Friday- Sunday Minimum 2 hours ( after 5pm minimum 4 hours) $120/hour+$80 cleaning fee Groups over 10 people: $50 DAMAGE DEPOSIT : Peerspace liability insurance doesn’t offer guests or hosts property damage insurance. Due to Peerspace lack of insurance we are obligated to charge every guest a $500 damage deposit to be paid directly and not through Peerspace. This damage deposit is refunded in full at the end of your booking if no damage occurs. Guest can chose to pay the damage deposit in cash at check-in or via e-transfer before the check-in. This is non-negotiable as this is our only protection against potential property damage. PARKING: The studio doesn't include parking but these are some options: 1) large grade-level public parking at the corner of Bay and Edward Street (right in front of the old greyhound bus terminal) 2) across the street at the Atrium on Bay (underground parking) the entrance is on Edward Street. 3) across the street at the Canadian Tire (underground parking) 4) There is also street parking on Edward st. ELEVATOR: We are 4 floors up, there is an elevator currently used Monday to Friday 9am-5pm only for gear/shipment but not for people due to Covid-19. The elevator is available after 5pm and on weekends for an extra cost ($15/hr) ************COVID-19 REGULATIONS************* -Face masks are mandatory in the elevator ********Please be considerate of your booking time and make sure to leave the studio within your scheduled time, otherwise overtime fees will apply********** We do our best to accommodate our guests needs. PARKING: The studio doesn't include parking but there is a large public parking at the corner of Bay and Edward Street as well as across the street at Canadian Tire. There is also street parking on Edward st.

 
General Rules
•No smoking inside the building. •confetti and glitter isn’t allowed. DAMAGE DEPOSIT : Peerspace liability insurance doesn’t offer guests or hosts property damage insurance. Due to Peerspace lack of insurance we are obligated to charge every guest a $500 damage deposit to be paid directly and not through Peerspace. This damage deposit is refunded in full at the end of your booking if no damage occurs OVERTIME overtime will be billed in half-hour increments. The space must be vacated and all items brought into the space must be removed by the end time of your booking reservation. CLEANING / DAMAGES although we charge a cleaning fee, we appreciate that guests tidy up after themselves. Guest must remove any equipment or rentals you bring in, and you should factor this setup and teardown time in your booking hours. Please take great care of our space. No nails, screws, staples or penetrating items should be used on our walls. Any tape or gummed backing materials must be properly removed. Damages (walls, floors, furniture, etc) will be billed to the credit card on file with Peerspace. FURNITURE Please notify us in advance if you need to move furniture in the space to suit your event needs. Please refer to Peerspace’s Terms and Conditions for all other rules.

Yes, I would book again.

We toured the area beforehand and really loved it, and our experience was pretty good overall. There was some confusion with our booking date on their end, which was very stressful, but to be fair, the manager that was present did his best to accommodate us, and gave us the space for the time he could spare, so we went ahead with the event, which was a great success.

Yes, I would book again.

This space is event-ready. The aesthetic is simple clean and bright and the customized lighting setup really brings it all to life. We brought ballons but it did not need anything to set the vibe. Darwin was an excellent host. Showed me how everything worked and where to find things I might need. I hosted a jack/Jill party for my friends wedding. We were able to airplay a slideshow of photos and memories on the TV. Plus they had a great speaker setup too. My partner was able to bring their DJ equipment and instantly set up. Only I thing I regret is not renting the elevator! Although it’s not too high up you will have to go up and down to let each of your guests into the studio. Thank you, Darwin for a great evening!
