welcome to woody! my home was designed by an architect in 1962 for a man who was a concert cellist and wanted to host house concerts, so it's a dramatic space with great acoustics. it's located on a leafy lot in a quiet neighborhood in roseville, a first-ring suburb that's less than 10 miles from both downtown minneapolis and st. paul and 25 minutes from the airport--super convenient! the centerpiece of the home is the great room, which has soaring brick walls, an original slate floor, clerestory windows, wood ceiling & paneling and loads of artsy character and charm. visitors to my house have said that the great room looks like the lobby of a boutique hotel in NYC, and i guess that's because of the colorful and funky furnishings which include iconic Adrian Pearsall chairs, bright tribal tapestries, vintage lamps and lots of sacred objects. i love blending different aesthetics to create a unique vibe that plays off the features of the space. there's a classic kenwood tuner / receiver that hooks up to your favorite streaming service with big ol' vintage bose speakers that fill the room. with the right music, a roaring fire and dozens of flickering candles, the mood is simply magical. the kitchen and lower level bathroom are tastefully updated, while the two upstairs baths retain their original mid-century character and fixtures. there are also 3 bedrooms upstairs, one of which is used as an office. the den / loft on the upper level overlooks the great room for interesting view (& shots) from above. if the weather cooperates, there is a very private patio right outside the great room with a firepit and twinkle lights underneath a canopy of oaks. this space has hosted creative team meetings, girlfriend gatherings, meditative sound baths, intimate dinner parties and romantic trysts. if you think it might work for something you're envisioning, please reach out and let's talk! thanks for looking : )
