Pros: Large space, got what was advertised. The apartment was perfect for our murder mystery party! The price was great for the location and size compared to other venues on Peerspace. Alaska always responded quickly to messages and was very courteous. We got to visit beforehand to make sure the space was right for us. When faced with an unforeseen emergency (major urgent repairs were needed in one of the bathrooms), Alaska offered us a generous discount, as well as the option to cancel without penalty. Cons: The apartment was not very clean (e.g. we found lumps of long black hairs throughout the floor). Make sure to ask that your deposit be returned in person at the end of the event, as per the Peerspace rules (and not a day or two later like the listing says!). We had a conflict over a serving spoon that she could not find the day after our event, and insisted (politely) that we double checked if we had taken it and that we asked our attendees. We were sure that we had washed it and left it on the drying rack. The conversation about the spoon went on for 24h, and this caused us a lot of stress. I even offered to buy her a new one just so that we could settle this issue, since I just wanted to recover my $250 deposit ASAP. In the end it turned out that someone else in her household had misplaced it the day after our event... l must stress, however, that Alaska was always polite and assumed good intentions.
