About the Space
Authentic one-of-a-kind 1955 Mid-Century house, architected by Frank Lloyd Wright understudy Matthias Goebel, known as the “Barina House.” Spacious 3,300 sq/ft home that has 96 windows, California redwood ceilings throughout, a dramatic two-way wood burning fireplace, skylights, and several indoor 10’ trees. Yes, trees. Indoors. The natural light is incredible and great for photography and film. The foyer/dining room area is an excellent entertaining space that can easily accommodate 40 guests. Sunken living room for additional seating or enjoying a nice fire. Dusk is spectacular. The furnishings are Danish teak, with heated slate floors. Four bedrooms, two bathrooms, and an office with original cork flooring. Massive original wall hanging by fiber artist Sharon Jaunsem and other unique pieces make this interior a timeless design. The house is secluded and sits on an acre of land on a dead-end street. There are several outdoor entertaining spaces and room for activities. 4-minute walk to Lake Michigan and the neighborhood’s private beach for more photo opportunities.

- The space is cleaned and disinfected in accordance with guidelines from local health authorities
- Sweep, mop, vacuum and clean the space.
- Supply a hand washing station with soap, warm water, and paper towels or hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
- Clean common areas allowing guest access including bathrooms, kitchens, and entrances.
- Collect and clean dishes, silverware, and other provided host amenities, if applicable.
- Remove garbage and add new lining to cans.

This space was absolutely perfect for my daughter's baby shower. It was an amazing mix of stylish, comfortable, and practical. Katherine was so kind and helpful. She even helped us carry in some of the the items from our car for the party. I'd definitely book this space again and would recommend it to friends and family!

Kathy's home was the perfect place to host my son's rehersal dinner! My guests couldn't stop raving about how awesome it is. Her home is designed for entertaining with several places for people to sit and have conversations, while at the same time more than adequately open enough for people to mingle and walk around. It provided the perfect backdrop for our event. Kathy went above and beyond to prepare for our event by having her cleaners, clean the space hours before we arrived so everythinh was in tip top shape. She even asked about the colors of my sons wedding so that she could have flowers that matched. She allowed me to drop off items ahead of the event to reduce stress on me the day of the event She was always immediately responsive to any questions and accommodated every request. By the end of our event I feel like we're best friends. It was a spectacular experience! I would (and have) recommended that you consider using Kathy's home for your event. You won't be disappointed!

Our creative agency, Tandem Creativ, recently rented this beautiful mid-century home for a video shoot, and it was a fantastic experience. The host was incredibly welcoming and communicative from start to finish. She was exceptionally helpful during the shoot, always ready to find us props around her home that we hadn't thought to bring. Her easy-going and friendly nature made the process smooth and enjoyable. The home itself was perfect for filming. Its historic and unique architecture allowed us to capture a variety of scenarios, each aesthetically pleasing and versatile enough to look like different locations. This versatility was a huge asset for our project. I highly recommend this home to anyone looking to film a commercial or documentary. The combination of a supportive host and an ideal filming location made our experience exceptional.
