Midtown Design Museum for Talks, Panels, Cocktail Parties, and more

We're the only museum in the southeastern United States that's entirely dedicated to design, so it may not come as a surprise that our space is beautifully designed! Our lobby opens up to three galleries that house exhibitions that demonstrate the power of design to inspire change, transform lives, and make the world a better place. Located at the corner of Peachtree Street and 16th Street, MODA is just one block from the Arts Center MARTA station. We are in the heart of the Midtown Arts Corridor: a vibrant, easily walkable neighborhood filled with restaurants, bars, and museums. We’re also just a short drive from Downtown Atlanta and Buckhead. Our museum is the perfect location for upscale cocktail parties, and one of its benefits is the opportunity it provides your guests to explore our current exhibition. For these events, we can easily accommodate up to 125. Our lobby and galleries are also available for meetings during hours that we are closed to the public: mornings, evenings, and all day Monday and Tuesday. Just imagine assembling your team in a museum gallery and getting creative! We can comfortably seat 60 lecture-style and 30-40 at tables. Team building activities such as LEGO challenges, skateboard design, private tours, and design sprints can be added on to all meetings. Our lobby and galleries are also available for meetings at times we're closed to the public (mornings, evenings, all day Monday and Tuesday). By booking your event with MODA, you are directly supporting our mission to advance the understanding and appreciation of design as the convergence of creativity and functionality through exhibitions, education, and programming for visitors of all ages. When renting MODA for a private event, you’ll have access to all three galleries, plus the Museum Shop and our beautiful Plaza (weather permitting). PLEASE NOTE: Event availability is based on MODA’s exhibition schedule and current operating schedule. AVAILABLE SPACES: Lobby This space can be utilized for greeting guests, food & drink stations, or — as a fun perk for your guests — time to browse the MODA Shop, which will remain open for the duration of your event. Cocktails among design books? Yes, please! All purchases help raise funds for MODA’s exhibitions and programming. Side Gallery A semi-private and highly adaptable space, our Side Gallery has played host to panel discussions, book readings, board meetings, company offsites, lunch and learns, and even intimate seated dinners. This room can be rented separately for small groups during daytime hours when MODA is closed to the public, or it can be reserved as part of a buyout package. The Side Gallery is available all day Monday & Tuesday; please inquire about Wednesday – Sunday availability. Back Gallery A high-volume space that’s great for cocktail parties and other events, from dinners to talks to discussion groups.
