Pets We love animals but we chose to make this home pet-free due to many people being allergic. No Smoking Policy - Strict No smoking or vaping inside the home or on the patio deck. If you smoke elsewhere on the property, which is strongly discouraged, please clean up after yourself. Towels We provide freshly washed bath, hand, and face towels for each guest, however we ask that you do NOT bring them outside to use as a picnic or beach towel. For summer stays, please bring your own beach or outside towels! Garbage Rules Quinte West has very specific recycling and garbage sorting guidelines that must be followed. We have separate garbage and recycling cans for use. Food waste goes in the garbage can in clear bags; recycling goes in blue transparent bags. Complimentary bags can be found under the sink. When they get full, please put them in the beige animal-proof metal bin in the driveway. Please don't leave any food or any garbage outside overnight, it may attract wild animals! You agree to clean the Property prior to departure, including placing all used plates/dishware in the dishwasher, and remove your own garbage and recycling from the Property to the appropriate bins provided. Please note that the City of Quinte West restricts garage to 4 tagged bags per week. We have provided you with 4 bag tags. Any garage in excess of 4 bags must be disposed of by the guest and not left at the Property. No Garbage Outside Please don't leave any food or any garbage outside overnight, it may attract wild animals!  Septic System This is very important. Everyone in your rental party must be aware of the care and maintenance of this system to prevent any unpleasant and expensive issues. Please use the toilet paper provided and no other object, including paper towels and feminine products can be flushed down the toilet. Our maximum occupancy of 10 (max 8 adults) is also tied to our septic system so any guests over the permitted occupancy will not be tolerated.  Water Like many cottages, we are serviced by well water. Don't worry, we have a great filtration and storage system in place! While the water is safe to drink, if might taste a little different than your use to. Feel free to use the Brita water filter on site or bring bottled water. We cook with the tap water and use it to brush our teeth without issue.  Water Pressure Notwithstanding that gorgeous body of water our home sits on, the water pressure in the area can ebb and flow, especially if your running the two showers and the dishwasher at the same time. Be patient. The pressure will regulate after a second or two. As mentioned above, we use well water, and although we also have a reserve tank, please be mindful of water waste. You don't want to run out of water (especially in the middle of a shower) and having to wait for the well to refill.  Stove Vent On the top right corner of the stove, there is a circular button. Touch the button to open and activate the vent. Once you are done cooking, touch the button again and watch the vent magically retract.  Fireplace To turn on the fireplace, simply turn on the light switch on the west wall of the games room (close to the door). Winter Spray The retaining wall, that has protected our shoreline for years, also contributes to a pretty big spray when waves crash into it, it's beautiful to watch - from afar. Make sure to properly supervise children (and adults) at the properties' edge. Do not sit, hang, swing or climb the fence. Safety first.  Parking Pass Enjoy full use of our provincial parks parking pass but make sure you leave it in the designated area at the end of your stay.
