The space
As you enter the house on the ground floor, you’re greeted by a grand, double-height hallway and a striking feature staircase. The hallway leads to a cosy, low-lit lounge and “music room” with a Yamaha electric piano. Here you also have an indoor fireplace that’s built into a black slate feature made from old snooker tables. From this room, there are double-doors that lead out to a private, pretty lawned garden with lounge seating and a sunbed. Off the hallway, you also have a large cloakroom for coats and bags, and a separate utility room with a brand new washing machine.
Up on the first floor is the main living area - a tribute to mid-century living, with vintage furniture and lighting, reclaimed wooden flooring and a trendy galley kitchen. The dining area also houses a large, built-in table for six, made from a reclaimed school chemistry table and overlooking a mezzanine area at the front of the house.
On the second floor is the master bedroom, complete with double-height ceilings, a walk-in wardrobe and a bathroom with a gloriously deep bright yellow bathtub and separate shower. Fabrics run through this grand yet cosy bedroom suite, and a custom-made wooden wall feature along with tailor-made cast iron bedside lamps make sleeping here feel like a dream. There are also remote-controlled blackout blinds to cover the upper windows.
On the third floor is the third bedroom, which can double up as a workspace, with a designer swivel chair and desk. From here, you have beautiful views over the rooftops of Hammersmith; and, being west-facing, you’ll have 180-degree views of stunning sunsets.
