One of the extremely rare private backyard gardens on Malibou Lake. Nestled in the Santa Monica Mountains, this lake house location is private enough that noise pollution is rarely an issue, but close enough to the city to be convenient for cast and crew. The yard has to be seen to be believed. Fenced on two sides, with a lake on the third side, it is completely private. Xeriscaped with lush, beautiful bushes that flower by season. Large, old trees encase the stone walkway down to the private wood dock. The dock is large enough for a production setup and uniquely crafted of wood, concrete, and rock around the perimeter. Direct sunlight several hours per day at peak summer, a wonderful, diffused light day long as the sun arcs south behind the trees. This lake location is upscale and private, perfect for romance, comedy, and general Americana.. anything that is set at a lakehouse or lakefront lakeside. The house can be used as a cabin (not just locally, a crew has used it for a Canada cabin because of the foliage). Whether you need waterfront (waterfront) or in-house, mountain views or a private Malibu garden, this location will not disappoint. IMPORTANT NOTE: The governing body of the lake, Malibou Lake Mountain Club, currently requires a site rep from the club to be present at all production shoots, regardless of the size. The fee for this site rep is $500 per day and must be paid directly to the club (it is not including in our fee). This is a lake-wide rule, so if you see any other listings at Malibou Lake that do not mention this, be aware that you will still need to pay it, separately, before production.
