About the Space

PLEASE READ ENTIRE LISTING AND RULES BEFORE MESSAGING. Makda's Garden Oasis is an updated Craftsman Bungalow in the Capital View neighborhood (East of the Anacostia). The space is perfect for summer soirees, BBQs, and photoshoots. Provide an overview of your Event Plan in your booking inquiry (include reason for event, food/beverage vision and budget, general information about attendees, music/sound, and any other relevant information). A more detailed Event Plan will be developed once preliminary details have been discussed. All renters must sign a service contract and submit a security deposit within 48 hours of finalizing the reservation on Peerspace but no less than 24 hours prior to the start of the reservation. ***PLEASE NOTE: Renters must use our private chef partners or apply for an exemption to use a third party caterer/chef. Caterers/Private Chefs must carry professional licensing, $100,000 in liability insurance, event insurance (with alcohol rider for events where alcohol will be provided or served), and sign a separate facility use agreement with the host. Renters wishing to prepare their own food must obtain an event insurance policy. Details will be provided during the booking process. All event supply rentals must be arranged with host through our partner rental services.*** CAPACITY: Indoor events are limited to 12 guests (cumulative total including any staff/contracted service providers). Indoor/Outdoor events can accommodate up to 30. LOGISTICS & AVAILABILITY: Standard hours of operation are as listed but earlier hours may be possible for an additional fee. Events must end and all guests exit by 11pm. Cleanup/breakdown may extend until 12am. Property will be opened by management at the designated setup time. Client will have open access to the unit starting at the designated event time. Guests not involved in setup/preparations are not permitted until the event's designated start time as defined in service contract. Host will notify you in person 30 minutes prior to your reservation end time to assist with any cleanup and closing instructions and lock up the property behind you. ALL guests must exit the property at the designated end time. Additional hours will be charged in 30-minute increments at the hourly rate specified in the service contract, payable immediately. INCLUDED IN RENTAL Outdoor spaces: - Street-facing front porch with seating, herbs and flowers, and string lights - Fully fenced back yard with covered pergola, grassy area, established trees, and a level pavestone area Indoor spaces: - Kitchen - Living room - Dining area - First floor full bath (1) NOT INCLUDED IN RENTAL: - basement - bedrooms (one bedroom can be made available for staging/storage or as a changing room with advance notice) - back yard shed - plates/cups/cutlery - we do not have sufficient quantities so these must be rented Optional Amenities & Services (additional fees apply): - Private Chef packages - Beverage & mixology packages - Movie projector w/ screen - Propane tank-top heaters (live flame, not suitable with children in attendance) - Sunshade for summer heat, 10x12 - Tent, 10x10 - Coat/Wardrobe rack rental - Tables (folding & adjustable height) - Event coordinator - Bartender and/or server - Dedicated on-site attendant - Splash Pad - Collapsible kiddie pool - Assorted electric fans (NOT water resistant, cannot be used in inclement weather) - Third Party event rental THINGS TO NOTE: I manage the property for the owner, Makda, while she is away but this is her home, not an investment property.

Cancellation Policy

Standard 30 day

Guests may cancel their Booking until 30 days before the event start time and will receive a full refund (including all Fees) of their Booking Price. Guests may cancel their Booking between 30 days and 7 days before the event start time and receive a 50% refund (excluding Fees) of their Booking Price. Cancellations submitted less than 7 days before the Event start time are not refundable. Learn more

All Bookings are subject to Peerspace’s Grace Period policy which provides a full refund for Bookings cancelled within 24 hours from receipt of a Booking Confirmation but no later than 48 hours prior to the Event start time.
