This house is a gorgeously renovated historical home in the Algiers Point neighborhood of New Orleans. Algiers Point is the 2nd oldest neighborhood in New Orleans and is full of rich history, quaint local shops and restaurants to frequent, and Creole-style architecture. This neighborhood was bursting with new sounds as jazz got its start in New Orleans. Many early jazz musicians lived in this area, including Peter Bocage, who lived at this site in 1912. This space highlights Peter and is an ode to New Orleans at the time he lived here. You'll find a modern take on a jazz lounge/speakeasy in the design details of the home. The ground floor boasts 11 foot ceilings and a large, open kitchen, dining, and entertainment space. There are gorgeous hardwood floors throughout the house. Two bedrooms are on the first floor and showcase elements of New Orleans culture and ties to the home's jazz history. The private, fenced backyard contains a covered porch and rocking chairs. The second floor houses a luxurious primary suite with a canopy bed, reading nook, and writing desk. There is also an ensuite bathroom with marble flooring, a marble-lined shower, a soaking tub, walk-in closet, and stained-glass window. All rooms of the home are available during bookings. There is an elevator that can be accessed by guests with mobility issues, but will otherwise be off-limits. Available seating is as follows: 8 people at the dining table, 4 people at the island, 6 people in the living room, 2 people in the reading nook, 1 person at the writing desk, 2 people on the back porch. Each shower also contains a shower seat. You may bring additional tables and chairs to accommodate your group, but they must be removed at the end of your stay. Existing furniture may be set up as needed for your usage, but must be returned to its original location without damage at the end of the booking. We are located 10 minutes to downtown New Orleans and 15 minutes from the French Quarter. The house can be easily accessed by car or rideshare and is a 10 minute walk along the levee to the Algiers Point Ferry, which will drop you off at the French Quarter near the Riverwalk Outlet. The levee is right across the street and offers additional photo and filming opportunities.
