About the Space

WELCOME! We want to provide a vibrant, eco-friendly (solar-powered by Jackery) AND budget-friendly way to record, film music videos, shoot artist photos, and hold full-band rehearsals. Our studio is located on a quiet street in Inglewood, within walking distance to excellent coffee and food. The main room is big and open, making it perfect for a number of creative projects - recording (movable gobos for sound isolation, piano, drum kit, vocal booth, control desk, amp room) photo and video shoots (pro lighting and backdrops included, piano and recording equipment available for live video shoots), rehearsal space (PA provided), writing sessions, small workshops, etc. It also includes a gorgeous deck with comfy seating and a dining table so that you can take breaks or eat meals in the fresh air. Take a break from tracking/shooting and walk over to Dose for coffee or Mitchell’s Deli for a delicious sandwich. Grab it to-go and enjoy the deck. Lighting description

There are 2 large windows on the south side of the building, 1 small window on the east side, a small window in the bathroom (west side) and a window in the vocal booth (west side). All of the windows can be blocked with sound proofing panels. The doors to the bathroom and vocal booth close and block light from the main space.

Space is soundproof

Ambient noise description

AC runs through a mini-split system and can be turned on and off easily to control fan noise. We are on a quiet street with minimal noise, and all windows can be plugged with sound rock wool sound proofing panels.

Equipment loading description

Because the studio building is accessed from the deck, there are 3 small steps up to the deck, and one small step down to the door of the building. We have a long driveway which makes it possible for vehicles to pull right up to the deck for easy access.

Staging area is available

The bathroom is small, but can be used for wardrobe changes. The main room is 550 sq ft and we have 3 movable walls that could be set up to create a staging area.

All rooms are available for shooting

Shooting the exterior of the building is allowed

Electrical system description

There are plenty of outlets located throughout the space. Power strips and extension cords are available. The control desk and kitchenette are solar powered by Jackery.

General Rules

Smoking on the property is not permitted. Feel free to take a walk in the neighborhood to smoke. Drugs are not permitted. Respect our neighbors when using the outside space. Be mindful that children live in the main house. They will leave you alone, but we ask that you refrain from drunkenness (alcohol is allowed). Lewd behavior will not be tolerated. Outside catering/delivery is allowed

All ages are allowed in the space

Production insurance is not required

Furniture and decorations may be moved

Furniture cannot be removed from the building. If you would like the drum kit removed please ask and we can remove it before your session. Wall decorations cannot be removed, but are minimal.

Enhanced Health and Safety Measures

High touch surfaces are disinfected between bookings, including the outdoor tables. The bathroom and kitchenette are cleaned between bookings. Gear is disinfected as needed.

Enhanced cleaning measures:

The space is cleaned and disinfected in accordance with guidelines from local health authorities
High touch surfaces and shared amenities have been disinfected
Bookings are spaced apart to allow for enhanced cleaning

All hosts are required to do the following prior to each booking:

Sweep, mop, vacuum and clean the space.
Supply a hand washing station with soap, warm water, and paper towels or hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
Clean common areas allowing guest access including bathrooms, kitchens, and entrances.
Collect and clean dishes, silverware, and other provided host amenities, if applicable.
Remove garbage and add new lining to cans.
