About the Space

The 180 year former church house is the domicile of filmmaker John Cameron Mitchell (Hedwig & the Angry Inch) and is a spacious Art Nouveau-meets-Rock'n'Roll "art church" perfect for small weddings, birthdays, dance parties, media shoots, workshops, lectures, screenings (10x14' screen/projector), performances and more. Prices are negotiable. Capacity is 150 people (more is negotiable) throughout the rentable 2600 sq. ft. Seating in ballroom is closer to 90. 1st floor space which includes 3 separate entrances, 3 bathrooms, a huge "Interview With A Vampire"-inspired red and black Ballroom (45x19 ft /850 sq ft/ ) with stage (19x9ft), baby grand piano, guitars, mics/PA, sound/DJ booth, all leading into an open service space (665 sq ft) with antique bar, large Moroccan-inspired kitchen/dining area, a cozy bedroom/dressing room/coatroom, connecting to our screened-in Nouveau Patio (300 sq ft) and lovely private backyard (400 sq ft). Upstairs a 2nd Kitchen/Dining Room and 4th bathroom is available for negotiable charge. We try to keep the outside noise down after 11pm for neighbors, midnight for Fri/Sat. Inside, the event can continue after midnight with discussion. We can recommend outside catering, table/chair rentals, higher-end sound system rental (we have a very simple PA and seating for about 70 throughout the 1st floor and garden). Though we don't produce events we can also provide/suggest staff, DJ, performers (music, comedy, burlesque, etc). Due to the age of the house we can't provide ADA accessibility for entry or bathrooms.

Cancellation Policy

Standard 30 day

Guests may cancel their Booking until 30 days before the event start time and will receive a full refund (including all Fees) of their Booking Price. Guests may cancel their Booking between 30 days and 7 days before the event start time and receive a 50% refund (excluding Fees) of their Booking Price. Cancellations submitted less than 7 days before the Event start time are not refundable. Learn more

All Bookings are subject to Peerspace’s Grace Period policy which provides a full refund for Bookings cancelled within 24 hours from receipt of a Booking Confirmation but no later than 48 hours prior to the Event start time.
