About the Space

our property located just 40 minutes from Downtown San Diego. The house sits on 8.6 acres of land dotted with boulders, trees, and wildlife. The property itself has a purple loft barn that sits atop a hill surrounded by trees. Inside is a loft style studio space filled to the brim with plants, antiques and artwork. Huge windows light the space that has been painted a deep evergreen, which adds to the warm, antiqued, and almost witchy vibe of the space. Taxidermy and oddities you'd rather not feature in photos or videos can be moved upon request! The main house that can be featured and utilized from the outside (including the patio, outbuilding, and hot tub). The entirety of the property - the trees, boulders, and forest like landscape - can be utilized. Even our resident 150lb tortoise Earl can be featured, should he be out and about and ready for cameras! We have neighbors with horses, and they can potentially be featured as well (this would need to be arranged well ahead of time). Our property would be perfect for those looking for a space that has both interior and rural exterior. The loft is perfect for people looking for something a little different - a bit dark, gothic, odd, but meticulously put together and curated. Whimsical, Western, or anything out of the ordinary would fit in perfectly.

Lighting description

Windows are large, with the biggest ones being north facing. Brightest time being between 7am-3pm in winter, and 7am-6pm in the summer. Additional lighting can be brought in, and 30% of the windows can be covered if need be.

Space is not soundproof

Ambient noise description

No regular ambient noise. We are 3 acres away from our nearest house, and the road is very sparsely traveled. Every so often you can hear noise from a far away shooting range, but this is only audible outside of buildings, and is not regular or consistent

There is a driveway leading up to the loft barn, with 4 large steps leading down to the barn from there. From the ground level, there are stairs leading up onto the deck. Generally the terrain is rural and rocky.

Space in the main house can be made available upon request.

Some rooms are off-limits for shooting

Rooms in the main house, should it be utilized, will be off limits. The living room and bathroom will be accessible, but rooms are private. The loft is entirely open, so all space is open.

Shooting the exterior of the building is allowed

Electrical system description

Circuit breaker can be accessed by the owners, as help and assistance will be available the entire time of booking. Each space has numerous outlets available for use.

General Rules

-No smoking inside the building -No excessive drinking (winding country roads out here, it isn't safe) -Outside catering allowed -Nudity permitted, however absolutely NO adult/sexual activity permitted -Trailers allowed, but must be arranged ahead of time so space can be made for them -Safety rules for exploring the property outside of buildings must be observed (be careful of wildlife, stay on paths, please do not climb rocks or trees without instruction) -Absolutely NO fires permitted! A small fire pit is available to use certain times of year for a small fee, but this must be tended to by one of us -Well behaved animals permitted on the property, however they must remained leashed. Animals allowed inside the barn loft on a case by case basis

Furniture and decorations may be moved

Furniture and decorations can be moved to a certain extent. large pieces of furniture can be moved, but not entirely removed from the space. Decorations can be moved or removed. All of this is to be done by the owners, with assistance from production if needed. Many of the decorations are antiques, and therefor fragile, so we ask that you have us move them.

Health and Safety Measures

Our space is kept incredibly clean. After each booking, it is cleaned from top to bottom, on top of daily maintenance, as it is also our home.

Enhanced cleaning measures:

The space is cleaned and disinfected in accordance with guidelines from local health authorities
High touch surfaces and shared amenities have been disinfected
Soft, porous materials have been properly cleaned or removed
Bookings are spaced apart to allow for enhanced cleaning

All hosts are required to do the following prior to each booking:

Sweep, mop, vacuum and clean the space.
Supply a hand washing station with soap, warm water, and paper towels or hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
Clean common areas allowing guest access including bathrooms, kitchens, and entrances.
Collect and clean dishes, silverware, and other provided host amenities, if applicable.
Remove garbage and add new lining to cans.
