Rockbound Oasis Retreat's elevated 360 degree views of the desert mesa, boulder formations, mountains and dark skies sits elevated on 2.5 acres only a few minutes from town but quite and private. The property includes an 85 year old mature cactus garden desert landscaping and Joshua Trees. There are multiple outdoor living areas including large boulders formations and 42" propane fire pit among the boulders and cacti, a patio with outdoor dining, multiple decks, swings and hammocks, pool cabana, kidney shaped pool, outdoor shower, and a midcentury inspired 14ft x 7ft hot tub over looking the mesa. The original 1954 mid-century home and casita have been lovingly preserved and updated by the owner, an architect. The stunning outdoor spaces are matched by the exquisite interiors offering may locations to shoot in with distinctive styling. The Midcentury details from original stonework and tile perfectly frame the views outside, and the soaker tub is probably he most photographed bathroom in Joshua Tree. In addition to being a popular location for production, Rockbound is also a popular vacation destination and is frequently booked on Airbnb. Our overnight guests check out at 11am and new guests check in at 3pm. Any production beginning before 11 or ending after 3pm will require us to block off the house on Airbnb, where guests are currently renting for up to $1200 per night. We share this so you understand our rate structure. If you require full access to the house and property, all-day (6am - 10pm) location access starts at $8000 for a crew of 10 or fewer. Please inquire about rates for larger productions. If you can limit your production to the hours of 6am to 1pm, or 3pm to 10pm, location access starts at $5500. If you have a limited budget, you can book an outdoor-only shoot between the hours of 11am and 3pm for $3500. Please inquire about rates for larger productions or any access requiring longer times than those listed above. Also note that overnight lodging at Rockbound can be added at 20% off listed rates if you are also booking the house as a location. Maximum overnight occupancy: 7 people.
