Free street parking available on a first-come, first-served basis. There is also a large parking lot with free parking behind building, but access to the space is through the front of the building.

There are north-facing and south-facing windows, with the north-facing windows providing the best natural light. They can be partially blocked out but we don't have it set up for 100% blackout. The space is quite large, though, and you can set up towards the middle of the space to mitigate any ambient light. Mid-day around noon would have the brightest light, but it's fairly consistent most of the day. The windows are 3 large banks of old factory windows in 8'x8' sections on the north side of the space and two banks of 8'x8' sections on the south side of the space.

There is absolutely no soundproofing. You can hear trains going by and if there is ambient music playing in the restaurant/bar below us, you can hear it (although it is muted). When there are bands playing during the evening in the restaurant/bar below, it is quite loud in the space. It is not an ideal space for recording sound usually. Although the restaurant/bar is closed Sundays and Mondays, so if you don't mind risking potential train sounds, those might be more ideal days to book a video shoot where you'd be recording sound.

Stairs

Arrival & Departure: - Do not arrive more than 10 minutes early. - A studio manager will be on-site to let you in the space and lock up when you leave. - If you are late, your session will still end on time. - If you are more than 30 minutes late to a one-hour session, you forfeit your session. Forfeited sessions due to late arrival are not refundable. - Your party must be fully vacated by the end of your rental period. If you are still in the studio beyond your scheduled time, you will be charged for the 1/2 hour ($37.50). Plan to wrap up your session at least 10 minutes before the end of your scheduled rental period. Larger productions may want to allow for 20-30 minutes for tear-down and clean-up. While You’re In The Studio - Maximum of 15 people in studio. Have a larger group? Please contact us in advance for approval. - Music and voices are to be kept at reasonable levels - All studio-provided paper backdrops must be handled by a Cap Gun studio manager. Please notify them when you are ready to switch colors. - You may move items in the space to create specific aesthetics for your shoot. However, the studio must be cleaned and items put away and put back in their original position by the end of the rental period. If you are moving a significant number of items, take a photo beforehand to ensure the space is returned to its original configuration. - Please only use the utility sink in the small bathroom by the entry door to the studio for cleaning paintbrushes or removing body paint and other makeup. - NO glitter - NO party strobe lights - NO powders (e.g. flour, baby powder, colored powders, turmeric). - NO fire or open flames. - NO smoking or vaping of any kind is allowed in the building. - NO non-prescription or illegal drugs allowed on the premises. - NO alcohol can be brought in to bookings in our space. No one will be admitted who is drunk or under the influence of illegal substances. - Pets are allowed but must be kept out of any curtained-off areas of the studio. You will be held responsible for any damage caused by your pet with a minimum fee of $25 or the cost of repair/replacement of any damaged items — whichever amount is greater. If your pet causes injury to any person or other animal in the building, you will be held liable for any medical expenses the injured party incurs and may face legal action. Please indicate on the booking form whether you are bringing an animal so that the studio manager is aware. - Children are allowed in the studio but must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Children are not permitted to wander around unattended in the back half of the studio space where we have some private workspaces and equipment storage. Please respect our other tenants, equipment, and your child’s safety.

Furniture and decor cannot be removed from the building, however you can move it to other locations to either incorporate into your shoot or remove from the shooting space. Items that are in the back half of the space are not allowed to be moved or used. There are private workspaces in the back half of our studio space that belong to other tenants so please do not enter those spaces or disturb any items in those spaces. A studio manager will walk you through the accessible areas of the space.
