HISTORY maintains the historic glamour and charm of the 1900s as originally one of Seattle’s founding families estate home. The splendor of the Stimson-Green Mansion derives from an assortment of vintage artifacts, fixtures, fireplaces and leaded windows. Home to the Washington Trust for Historic Preservation, no detail is overlooked. BEST USES The Mansion offers a fantastic backdrop for any photo or video shoot looking to add a touch of historic grandeur. Details throughout the property such as the large fireplace in the library or the beautiful mosaic leaded windows provide the perfect backdrop for any scene. Wedding events and other milestone celebrations, company socials, themed events, all-day off site work meetings are all great uses of this venue. THE SPACE The lower level consists of the Billiards Room and Turkish Lounge, aptly named for the Moorish flairs. The leaded mosaic windows add beautiful color and light to the rooms and a large brick fireplace gives the space grandeur. "Secret" staircases and rooms are scattered throughout the mansion as well. The main floor and main entrance welcomes guests with a Grand Foyer worthy of the family that built this home. To one end of the hall is the Library and a view of the largest fireplace of the property. All throughout is artwork and artifacts reflecting the early 20th century history of the building. The Library is home to both a large ornate fireplace and also a small mezzanine that is home to a baby grand piano. One wall is lined with books and another with large picture windows. Portraits of the Stimson & Green families give the room a regal atmosphere. The dining room also includes a fireplace and an ornate romanesque dining table that seats 20 (including 20 upholstered dining chairs). The parlor is a brighter room (originally the ladies' parlor) with decorated walls, classical sconces, a small marble fireplace, and carpeted flooring. Also on the main floor is the huge kitchen that is a combination of the classic historical design and modern ameneties that any chef would be comfortable utilizing to serve events of 100+ people. The basement runs throughout the property. With lower ceilings and a tiled floor the basement is very utilitarian and provides storage for the mansion events. Upstairs in the mansion are the living quarters. Two bedrooms complete with historic decor, dressing room, fireplace, large bed, and seating areas. The 3rd floor consists of offices in the former servants quarters. Behind the Mansion is another 2,000 sq ft, two story, Carriage House. The Carriage House is home to Birch Road Clubhouse but is also available for bookings. The interior retains the rustic look of the former stable/garage with exposed beam ceiling and brick walls but has a new updated modern decor for the social club currently housed there. This can be great to serve as a staging area for cast and crew during a large shoot. The Mansion exists on half a city block, right next to a public park. There is parking on site as well as access to additional parking at nearby parking garages. The property is beautifully landscaped and includes a small garden in the rear.
