Historic Spanish House in the Heart of Miami

As you approach the property, you are greeted by a garden bordered by trees, sweet almonds, rosemary, and sage. The porch is a beautiful spot for photoshoots especially in the afternoon light. The curved wall with an open arch frames an old bougainvillea, giving a unique background. On the opposite side is an arched wood gate giving access to the back garden. Inside the Spanish cottage, you discover the main living area with its 13' -foot-high vaulted ceiling with exposed wood beams. The centerpiece of the living room is the original and still working fireplace with beautiful architectural details. Also original to the house are the oak wood floors with a distinctive inlay of walnut contouring the floors. The kitchen and dining are open to the living area and have an industrial and vintage vibe. The kitchen is fully equipped and has a long island where guests are welcome to sit and socialize. You will also enjoy high sloped ceilings in the kitchen with a skylight that casts sun rays into the space. By the kitchen and behind a set of French doors is the study room surrounded by windows overlooking the large garden in the back. A cozy spot with a mid-century flare. The bedroom facing the front of the property has a queen-sized bed, it is a teen's bedroom. Across from it and facing the back garden is the primary bedroom with a vaulted ceiling with exposed beams and French doors opening up to the garden. The bathrooms have their own identity. One is an indoor/outdoor bathroom, we call it the garden bathroom. The large shower is bathed by natural light coming from the skylight. Leave the glass door open and you will hear the birds as you shower. The monochromatic finishes give it a calming and nature-driven spirit. The second bathroom has the morning sunlight and beautiful terra cotta floors giving it its Mediterranean feel. The garden is always changing and evolving, there are many remarkable aspects to the cottage. Its location and architecture being the main ones, it all comes together as a relaxed yet elegant background for your projects.
