Studio Metropolis is a spacious 3,883 sq. ft. photo and video production studio in Downtown Los Angeles designed for photographers, filmmakers, creative teams, brands, editorial productions, interviews, content creation, fashion, beauty, portraiture, headshots, and commercial shoots. The studio offers a large, flexible shooting area that can be reconfigured for different productions and multiple setups throughout the day. Whether you are working with a solo photographer and talent or a larger creative team, the space is designed to make production comfortable, efficient, and client-ready. Seamless paper is available for normal hanging use. Seamless paper pulled onto the floor and left marked, damaged, cut, or otherwise unusable is billed at $20 per linear foot consumed. GRIP + PRODUCTION SUPPORT A selection of basic studio and grip equipment is available with the rental, including: • C-stands • Light stands • Sandbags • Clamps • Apple boxes • V-flats • Reflectors and boards • Tripod • Digitech / rolling cart • Stingers / extension cables • Clothing racks • Wardrobe steamer • Folding tables and chairs • Stools and assorted furniture Availability and quantities may vary, so please let us know in advance if your production requires a particular item. LIGHTING Select house lighting may be available depending on your production and booking. Additional lighting and production equipment may also be available as optional add-ons. Please message us before booking if your shoot depends on specific lighting equipment so we can confirm availability. RATES + CREW SIZE Rates are based on the total number of people on site, including crew, talent, clients, representatives, and guests: • 1–5 people: $80/hour • 6–10 people: $105/hour • 11–15 people: $130/hour 2-hour minimum. The standard maximum occupancy for this listing is 15 people. Productions requiring more than 15 people are not automatically permitted and must contact us in advance for approval and custom arrangements. PARKING + LOAD-IN Several paid parking lots are located immediately around and near the building, making arrival easier for crew, talent, and clients in Downtown Los Angeles. The building also has a large freight elevator, making it easier to bring in lighting, wardrobe, cases, props, and other production equipment. CLIENT + TALENT COMFORT Production days can be long, especially in Downtown Los Angeles. Studio Metropolis is equipped with five AC units plus additional fans to help keep the studio comfortable throughout the day. A separate green room / holding area gives talent, clients, HMU, wardrobe, and production teams a place away from the main shooting floor. Complimentary water and light snacks are provided for reasonable use during your booking. SITE SCOUTS + WALKTHROUGHS Have questions before booking? We are happy to help you determine whether the studio works for your production. Virtual walkthroughs can be arranged when available. In-person site scouts are available by appointment and may require a site-scout deposit that can be credited toward a qualifying studio booking. PLEASE NOTE Studio Metropolis is primarily a photo, video, and creative production space. If your project involves an unusually large crew, special construction, unusual power requirements, extensive set building, painting, special effects, or another non-standard production need, please contact us before booking so we can confirm what can be accommodated.
