Welcome to the Morgridge Residence — a striking 1958 mid-century modern home designed by architect Howard H. Morgridge, once photographed by Julius Shulman in 1959 and featured in his Taschen book, Modernism rediscovered. With design elements reminiscent of John Lautner and Frank Lloyd Wright, this 3,570 sq ft post-and-beam gem features open-beam ‘fishtail’ ceilings, natural stone, built-in furniture, sunken living room, and a stunning asymmetrical fireplace clad in shimmering blue mosaic tile. The home is thoughtfully furnished with original Knoll and Eames pieces, enhancing its authentic mid-century aesthetic and providing a design-forward backdrop ideal for film, fashion, commercial, and editorial shoots. Sun-drenched interiors flow into private patios and landscaped gardens, with a spacious backyard designed for flexible staging, outdoor dining scenes, or golden hour setups. The pool is currently under renovation and empty, but accessible for shoots requiring a raw or in-progress look. The property sits on over 45,000 sq ft and includes four bedrooms and two bathrooms. Please note: due to a septic system, bathrooms are available for shooting purposes only. Production teams must provide external restrooms for crew and talent use. With sweeping views — including Catalina Island on clear days — and iconic mid-century design, the Morgridge Residence offers a rare and visually rich setting for your next production or event. We are just outside of Pasadena in unincorporated Los Angeles, which makes pulling permits for larger film crews here a breeze, from FILM LA not Pasadena. Production supplies are available for additional fees. Pool is empty. See photos. Old photos of the house for reference. Large Crews bring restrooms
