Come check out our beautiful studio space located at the Globe Arts Center! Host your next art show or workshop at our corner studio in downtown Avondale Estates. Our studio is part of an amazing artist community, and we’re well suited to host gallery shows and creative workshops, whether you’d like a space to showcase your own work, are curating a show with other artists and makers or leading a creative workshop. There is free parking in front of our building and on the surrounding side streets. The door is equipped with a key code entry, and we have a private bathroom inside, as well as a mini fridge for storing drinks. The outside of the artist studios are well-lit and generally well-populated at night as well--it's a very safe area! There are great restaurants nearby as well for grabbing food or drinks before or after your event: Vietvana, Leftie Lee's, Arepa Mia, Commune, Wild Heaven, to name a few. There is also a mini fridge with a freezer to store drinks on site, as well as a microwave. The main gallery area is about 450 sq ft. with a lofted upstairs space (off limits, used as a private office area) with a custom lighting truss. Included in your rental are two 8' long custom counter height work tables on casters that are perfect for use in a workshop capacity, or for displaying artwork and prints. There are 8' and 6' folding tables included as well. There are three walls to hang art on: -a 24 ft wall of windows, where we’ve installed a chain system to hang art in a flexible way, from the floor to 12’ (see photos for examples) -an 8 ft wall of windows at the front of the space with a chain system as well -a 16 ft white wall We’ve installed velvet blackout curtains that can be left open or drawn closed to give you full control of the light in the space. The overhead lights are all on dimmers or can be turned off completely. Additionally, we have installed a lighting truss that is accessible from the 2nd floor which allows for lighting your work professionally! We have a couple of add ons below that we’re happy to work with you on to create the perfect experience for your show or workshop. Please note that for a workshop, 20 people is the max capacity we'd recommend. For a gallery show, 30-40 inside at any one time is the max that would be comfortable.
