History of the space
This is an intimate, chic wine bar and event venue located within a boutique hotel, hatched from the mind of an attorney-turned-Sommelier, who opened his first wine shop in San Diego nearly a decade ago. Sabre aims to highlight the finer things that he loves most about life, including small-production grower Champagnes, artisan wines, and the best caviars from around the world.
Neighborhood details
Sabre is located within San Diego's Historic Gaslamp Quarter, a 16.5-block in the heart of downtown San Diego, known to be the city's premier entertainment, dining, and nightlife district. The Gaslamp is a vibrant, walkable neighborhood where Victorian-era buildings from the late 19th century sit alongside modern skyscrapers. We are just a few short blocks from the Convention Center, the Coronado Ferry landing, and the beautiful Bayfront Embarcadero boardwalk.
Logistics
Sabre is home to some of the best people-watching in the Gaslamp Quarter, with an indoor/outdoor bar opening up to a 14-seat patio adjacent to the sidewalk. Indoors, you will find a 5-seat bar complete with Champagne doorbells (yes, they really deliver Champagne!), rail seating for 4, and lounge seating for about 15. Bookings can be made solely for the indoor or outdoor spaces, or for the entire venue, which will accommodate up to 35 seated or around 40 for a standing, mingling reception. The hotel offers valet services and there are many options nearby for metered street parking. We are located within walking distance to the San Diego Trolly system as well as the Coronado Ferry landing.
