A beautiful and atmospheric Grade 1-listed 12th-century stone village church with incredible natural acoustics and reverb, ideal for acoustic recording, choirs, classical instruments and atmospheric filming. The space is divided into two large rooms with high vaulted ceilings separated by an open archway, with plenty of floor space for individual artists or small bands, choirs and film setups. Seating arrangements are a combination of traditional wooden pews and additional chairs. There is also a very small vestry (side room) to use for storing equipment, but please note that it cannot be locked. There is an altar, pulpit, stone font, and a central aisle through the pews. Entrance is through a historic door complete with a sanctuary handle. We have four electrical sockets (please bring extension cords), an electric keyboard and infrared heating in the main areas. However, the space gets cold outside the summer season so please bring warm clothes. Please note there are no toilet facilities on site; you will have to drive a few minutes to a nearby pub. Also, the stated approximate space area includes the area occupied by pews. There is no WiFi but a good mobile data connection. Your booking includes access to the entire building as well as the churchyard, which is ideal for photography and filming. The surrounding area is very quiet and it is unlikely you will be disturbed by any background noise. We provide a Do Not Disturb sign to put on the main door and entrance gate so you can expect total privacy.
