A warm, storybook dessert cafe on 2nd Street in Belmont Shore, two blocks from the sand. We have been a Long Beach staple since 2012 and open the space for shoots, productions, and private gatherings. Networks including HGTV, TLC, and Food Network have filmed at our locations, so we know how production works. A manager is on site for every booking, and we are glad to help wherever needed, including drinks for the crew. WHAT THIS RATE INCLUDES This rate reserves the patio only, and the cafe remains open to the public during your booking. Interior shoots and full private buyouts are quoted separately, starting at $1,750 for a weekend evening. Before-open mornings from 7am to 11am give you the full space with no guests in frame. Message us and we will send options. THE SPACE Inside is a black and cream palette with natural wood, dried florals, succulents, and a neon sign reading "eat dessert, be a monster." Large storefront windows face east, so mornings fill the room with soft, even light. It photographs beautifully without a single filter. Seats 16 at tables plus 6 more on benches. Out front is a covered patio under a wood pergola with hanging greenery, lanterns, and striped fringed umbrellas, right on the 2nd Street sidewalk. Seats 4 to 6, or 8 standing. Golden hour out here is the best hour of the day. BEST TIMES TO SHOOT Before-open mornings, 7am to 11am, are our best availability. You get the full space to yourself with no guests in frame and east-facing light through the storefront. Overnight bookings after 11pm are also available. Patio-only and interior shoots during business hours are possible, though the cafe is operating and guests will be present. GOOD FOR Food and beverage photography, recipe and cooking video, brand and product content, lifestyle and portrait shoots, apparel lookbooks, interviews, small commercial and indie film. THE DESSERT ADVANTAGE We are a working dessert cafe, so real product is available for food styling and on-camera use. Add dessert packages with giant ice cream macarons, banana splits, ice cream flan, and browned butter triple chocolate cookies. Add drink packages with specialty coffees, boba, matchas, blended drinks, and milkshakes. We can also arrange floral styling through our floral brand Wildflower Co. Tell us what you need and we will build a package. GOOD TO KNOW Crews over 10 need a certificate of insurance. Lighting rigs, grip equipment, and generators require advance approval. Nothing may be attached to the building, railing, umbrellas, or fixtures. A team member is on site for the duration of every booking. Accessible walkways stay clear at all times. Our commercial kitchen is not available for guest use.
