About DO THE DAMN THING - The Thread Eastlake

A 10,000-square-foot creative compound on East Van Buren, three minutes from downtown Phoenix and eight from Sky Harbor. This is the headquarters of DO THE DAMN THING — the building with our name painted in black across the entire front, so your guests won't miss it. Inside is a working café, an open floor that reconfigures for almost anything, a thrift shop, and a second-floor production studio. It's industrial, high-contrast, black-and-white, and it photographs extremely well. It's been used for art shows, open houses, markets, workshops, networking nights, and film and photo shoots. The kitchen is a full commercial setup, so catering can come from us instead of a truck in the parking lot. Good for: art exhibitions, pop-ups and markets, workshops and classes, launch parties, networking events, photo and video shoots, community gatherings. Included: private fenced lot with 27 free spaces, ground-floor load-in, restrooms, Wi-Fi, tables and chairs [confirm count], on-site host. Available as an add-on: food and coffee service from our café kitchen, staffing, AV Available Onsite - just ask.

Health and Safety Measures

Bag all trash and place it in the bins in the [loading area / alley]. Extra bags are under the prep sink. Return tables, chairs, and any furniture you moved to where you found them. Photos of the original setup are posted by the door. Remove everything you brought in — decor, signage, equipment, coolers, leftover food, flowers. Anything left behind is discarded after 24 hours. Take down all signage, tape, and displays. Walls should look the way they did when you walked in. Wipe down tables and any surfaces you used for food or drink service. Empty and remove any beverage tubs, kegs, or ice. Don't dump ice or liquid in the lot or landscaping — use the [mop sink]. Break down boxes. If your load-out generates more than [two] bags of trash, it goes with you rather than in our bins. If you used the kitchen: all dishes, equipment, and surfaces cleaned and returned. Kitchen use is billed separately and inspected before you leave. Turn off any equipment you turned on. Leave lights and HVAC alone — we handle those. What we handle: mopping and vacuuming, restrooms, bin haul-out, and the final walkthrough. What gets billed extra: Confetti, glitter, or loose decor anywhere on the property — [$150] Stains on floors or upholstery requiring treatment — [$150 and up] Trash left loose, food waste left out, or grease on surfaces — [$100] Items left behind requiring storage or disposal — [$75] Adhesive, tape residue, or wall damage — billed at cost Walkthrough: we do a joint walkthrough at the end of your booking. Any charges are assessed then and deducted from your deposit, with photos, within 48 hours.
