About the Space

About the Space: Built in 1940, this East Nashville stone cottage has spent more than 80 years collecting character, and it shows. Tree-filtered sun spills through bamboo shades and old windows, scattering dappled patterns across every room and warming to a rich, golden glow by late afternoon. It's the natural look cinematographers and photographers chase, and here it happens on its own. Inside, sage-green paneling, painted plank ceilings, warm wood floors, brass accents and layered vintage textiles make the home feel collected over time, never staged. It's ideal for scripted scenes, music videos, brand campaigns and editorial photography that need to feel real. The Layout: The home is approximately 2,000 sq ft across two floors, with spaces indoors and out. Downstairs ceilings are 8 ft. • Living room (14'9" x 10'9"): moody and cozy, with a working gas fireplace under a painted mantel, brass candle sconces, built-in bookshelves, vintage oil paintings, a brass chandelier and a tufted leather ottoman. In the afternoon, light falls across the room in long gold stripes. It's perfect for fireside scenes any time of year, and it opens straight through to the piano room for layered, room-to-room framing. • Piano room (10'3" x 10'9"): sun-bathed, with windows on two sides, bold fan-pattern wallpaper, plaid drapes, an oil portrait and a vintage upright piano. A standout for performance, portraits and quiet moments. • Cottage kitchen (10'10" x 17'6"): sage cabinetry, brass fixtures, a gas range with a pot filler, open wood shelving, woven baskets and a farmhouse dining table with rush-seat chairs. Ready for cooking scenes, morning coffee and lifestyle content. • Breakfast nook (9'2" x 7'5"): a built-in wooden banquette and farmhouse table beneath a rattan pendant, backlit by a window with café curtains. Made for family meals and kitchen-table conversations, and one of the most cinematic corners in the house. • Guest room (10'9" x 10'11"): a soft, romantic bedroom with botanical leaf wallpaper, an antique carved wood bed, bamboo shades and blush linen drapes, for intimate scenes and morning routines. • Downstairs bath (8'4" x 4'7"): painted paneling, a pedestal sink, an oval wood mirror, wicker sconces and café curtains. • Screened-in porch (16' x 10'8"): a gorgeous open-air room with the home's original stone wall on one side, brick and French doors on the other, and a checkered floor underfoot. Rattan furniture, a daybed-style settee, string lights and hanging ferns, with wooden shades that soften and shape the light. In the morning, leaf shadows play across the walls. Great for interviews, acoustic performances and relaxed lifestyle scenes. • Backyard: a large, tree-shaded yard with a firepit, made for golden-hour and evening scenes. Upstairs (ceilings up to 8'9", sloped): • The Storybook Room (8'4" x 16'6"): a soft, romantic nursery wrapped in sage toile wallpaper, with a little white bed, antique wood dressers, a scalloped gilt mirror and a wicker pendant. Ready to shoot as a nursery or child's bedroom. • Open loft (15' x 11'): a flexible home base for gear staging, wardrobe and holding. • Double-vanity bath: a 70" vanity with two sinks, a natural spot for hair and makeup. • Primary bedroom: extra room for equipment or a green room. The upstairs (other than the Storybook Room) is simple and unstyled, which makes it useful working space. Lighting and Power: Abundant natural light throughout, with bamboo shades and drapes to shape it. Philips Hue smart bulbs on the main floor and in the guest room let you adjust color and brightness, and the living room, piano room and kitchen have hardwired ceiling fixtures. The brass sconces hold liquid-fuel taper candles: a real flame that won't drip or melt. Standard 120V outlets in every room, at least two per room. The Neighborhood: The cottage sits on a leafy street in Inglewood, one of East Nashville's most charming residential neighborhoods, just minutes from local coffee shops, restaurants and downtown. Parking and Access: The driveway is small and lined with stone walls, so it isn't suited to production vehicles, but there's room for two cars plus one in front of the house. A large church parking lot sits directly across the street, which makes crew parking and load-in easy. Please keep the two rows closest to the community center open for their members. Rates: • Hourly: $150/hour, 3-hour minimum • Full day: bookings of 8+ hours are automatically 20% off ($1,200 for a 10-hour day) • Half day (5 hours): $650. Message me and I'll send a custom offer • Each additional consecutive day: $1,000 • Overtime beyond your booked time: $175/hour Multi-day productions are welcome to leave their setup in place overnight. Past Bookings: The home is owned by a working director and cinematographer who has shot several music videos here. I know where the light falls throughout the day, and I'm happy to help you plan your shoot around it.
