EXTERIOR 
The landmark farmhouse, recently revamped as guesthouse, is nestled on the foothills of the Shawangunk mountains, on a 2-acres lot, towered by ancient woodlands and fenced by dense trees and lush bamboos, at the end of an uphill, asphalt road. This unique topography, on a gently sloped land, keeps the house, the pool and the garden hidden from driveways, parks and neighbors’ houses. 

The property is bound to the West by a rushing stream -Palmaghatt- a Dutch name, that serves as a picturesque border with the Minnewaska State Park. A private footbridge over Palmaghatt waterfalls leads to history-filled, hilly trails, stonewalls, boulders and limestone cliffs; a pristine lake at mountain summit; and mushroom grounds whose locations are secretly guarded. 

From North-South, the property garden is planted with majestic, white pines, tall spruces, maples, bamboos, high grasses and evergreen bushes, perennial plants; and spiked by architectural details. And a contrasting meadow land on the South that

INTERIOR

At the ground floor level: the gathering area consists of a living-room with woodstove, a dining-area, a lounging area in front of the second wood stove, a foyer with a high, full-glass entrance door, an alcove room with laundry equipment and desk, a staircase leading to the second-floor bedrooms, a door to the kitchen room and a door leading to the cellar/crawling space.

A recently renovated kitchen occupies a 150-sqft room with cathedral-ceilings and pinewood trims; it has a separate full-glass, patio door; bay windows on 3 exposures that frame lush bamboos; dimmable modern fixtures, modern cabinetry; large, granite countertops for eat-in breakfast; a full set of modern, quality appliances (dish-washer; gas stove; refrigerator with freezer, microwave); and professional kitchenware (pots, pans, trays) for cooking. A high-quality washer-gas dryer tower-stacked is niched in the alcove on the ground floor. 

The home furniture and decoration are inspired by the owner’s world fusion heritage, with ethnic arts, vintage pieces, rustic and exotic furniture, in Bohemian, romantic styles.

The outdoor parts are the stunners for photos, but inside provides rooms with distinctive vibes.  The basement has an old Elks or VFW lodge feel, all done in cedar. The living space is a combination of victorian walls, ceilings, and fixtures with contemporary furnishings.  The dining room features an original chandelier and fireplace. The attic is an airy, white loft artists space.
