Photography enthusiasts in New York City recently had the opportunity of a lifetime: a hands-on workshop led by renowned photographer Luiz Claudio and Nikon – all hosted in a versatile, expansive Peerspace. Located in Bushwick, this event provided participants with the exclusive chance to test the new Nikon Z6III camera in a true photographer’s playground.
The workshop was designed to immerse both amateur and experienced photographers in the art of portrait photography. With Luiz’s guidance, they learned about the nuances of indoor photography, lighting techniques, and creative composition. To bring his vision to life, Luiz Peerspaced Gymnopedie, a multi-room production studio with seven distinct spaces, each brimming with creative potential.
“I was looking for the perfect place to make my dream come true in New York City,” shared Luiz. “Finding an app that filters all your needs and offers you the best locations saves a lot of time. I was looking for a large place with different scenes and an old school vibe, as well as a place that offered lighting equipment for rent.”

Gymnopedie offered Luiz and his students over 1,800 square feet of different rooms and set ups to play with. In one corner, a retro classroom with exposed brick and moody lighting included props like vintage school desks, a teacher’s desk, and a chalkboard. Along another wall, twenty-one televisions illuminated the models in a staticky blue glow. Funky and visually engaging, these spaces were ideal for experimenting with storytelling and conceptual photography.
With state of the art equipment like the Nikon Z6III and an incredible Peerspace as the backdrop, this workshop empowered photographers to expand their horizons and capture stunning portraits. Whether you’re just beginning your photography journey or looking to grow your career, find a Peerspace that inspires you.
