The 12 Best Atlanta Fashion Photographers

Atlanta is undoubtedly one of the South’s greatest cities. It draws visitors from around the globe and is also among the most rapidly growing cities in the United States. Tourists and residents alike arrive in search of Atlanta’s delicious cuisine, the famous bounty of trees, affordability, a glorious climate, and cultural vibrancy. That last reason explains why there are so many incredibly talented Atlanta fashion photographers. This list is our effort to gather a list of some of the city’s greatest photographic talents in one spot.

1. Drea Nicole Photography

Let’s put it this way: Drea Nicole is famous enough to have shot Tyra Banks, one of the best-known models of all time. And Drea Nicole’s portfolio is star-studded for a reason. She does flawless work, including but not limited to her especially arresting fashion photography. Every photo is saturated with color and is an exciting experience to see. Additionally, Drea is an entrepreneur and founder of Rebel Lifestyle magazine. She is by far one of the best Atlanta fashion photographers and certainly deserves to be first on this list.

2. Kelly Lane Photography

Since she began her career ten years ago shooting weddings, Kelly Lane has applied the spontaneity required for such shoots in her move to the fashion world. Her work is stunning, often ethereal, with fabulous light and often a slight aura or glow around its subjects. Her work gloriously captures the subtle nuances of varied, wide-ranging fashions. And Kelly speaks dreamily about her career choice, saying: “They say when you find what you love it doesn’t feel like work, and it doesn’t. Which makes me love it all the more.” Check out her portfolio, and you’ll understand how much she means these words.

3. Tanisha Renae Photography

Tanisha Renae describes herself as “an Atlanta-based creative” who specializes in both fashion and lifestyle photography. Her unique work often looks as though it’s been painted rather than photographed. Additionally, her keen eye consistently captures perfect moments in time and serves her well in both her photography and her creative director careers. Tanisha divides her own time between Atlanta and Los Angeles, two of the county’s undeniable fashion hubs.

4. CreativeSoul Photography

CreativeSoul’s experience may surprise you. That is until you check out their incredible images. Their work has been featured in Essence magazine, on the Oprah Winfrey Network, in Munaluchi Bride, on The Real daytime talk show, in MochaKid magazine, and many more leading media outlets. That’s because CreativeSoul is led by Regis and Kahran, a phenomenally talented couple who are completely passionate about the work they do. They have a “holistic approach to capturing one-of-a-kind moments” that allows them to effectively tell important and beautiful stories through their work.

5. Ken Weingart Photography

Ken Weingart is another fashion photographer dually based in Atlanta and Los Angeles. He’s worked with too many famous figures to count, including Helen Mirren, Natalie Portman, Kate Winslet, the Coen Brothers, Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn, Sigourney Weaver, Hilary Swank, Frances McDormand, Dr. Dre, Joni Mitchell … we could keep going! It’s because his photos are the height of high fashion that he attracts so many A-listers. Ken’s style is often simple, yet with a consistent feel, that’s unmistakably his.

6. Drexina Nelson Photography

Another of the most outstanding Atlanta fashion photographers, Drexina Nelson chose photography because it’s a place “where she could combine her love for beauty and the arts” as well as “her keen eye for composition and style.” Since then, she has worked with national publications, TV and film stars, award-winning musicians, and other world-class talents. And we think her fashion photography in particular is some of her best work.

7. Allie Hine Photo

Allie is a portrait and fashion photographer whose photos are stylized and yet extremely real, so alive you might almost think their subjects were breathing. All of it is consistently beautiful, certainly some of the best work we’ve encountered as we browsed the work of countless Atlanta fashion photographers. If you’re hoping to bring an otherworldly aesthetic down to Earth, she may be your best option.

8. Leah Roth Photography

Because Leah Roth specializes in photographing dance, she is especially adept at capturing movement for dynamic photos brimming with energy. Her portraits are arresting and transfixing. They capture the distinct personalities of each of her subjects so that each photo has its own unique mood. Leah has such a diverse portfolio that you should do yourself a favor and scroll through it all!

9. Photography by Tabb

Andrew Tabb does a bit of everything, and he does it well. His fashion photography is creative, vibrant, and full of emotional connection between viewer and subject. In his own words: “When people ask me what type of photographer I am, I usually answer with ‘Well, I shoot a lil bit of everything,’ which is very true. You name it, weddings, engagements, children, pets, promotional, pin ups….the list goes on! My goal is not only to create fantastic photos, but also to create a fun and memorable experience.” Andrew is one of our favorite Atlanta fashion photographers and we highly recommend him for your photoshoot needs.

10. Leah Perry Photography

Although she’s originally from Boston, Leah came to love the south while studying photography at the Portfolio Center College of Art and Design in Atlanta. She continues to work in Atlanta, “always looking to create a great story told in stills, construct new worlds on set, or command a studio or location with her easy-going, confident presence.” This ethos is undeniable with just a brief glance at her work, which is ultra-modern as well as simple enough to let the portraits themselves shine. That’s why she’s worked with big names like Southern Living, Jezebel, Macy’s, and more.

11. Hales Photo

Hales Photo is led by husband-and-wife team Jason and Natalie Hales. Jason is the photographer, while Natalie’s the producer. They’ve worked with leading celebrities, brands, and organizations: Paper Magazine, Shaquille O’Neal, Sir Richard Branson, Google, Porsche, the band St. Beauty, TED Talks, and more. Their work speaks for itself and sets them apart as some of the leading Atlanta fashion photographers (in addition to other kinds of photography, since they’re not limited to fashion alone).

12. Lola Land Photography

Kaia Lola of Lola Land Photography focuses quite a bit on athletic photography, but she also has extensive experience with fashion photography as well. She was the creative director of Eco Mode Couture and Art Directory of Revolutionary Runway, among other significant positions. She gets to the heart of things when she says, “Anyone can take a technically solid photograph, but how many can implement subtle cues that make a head shot stand out in a stack of applications?” Every one of her photos is striking—they make you stop and look.

Atlanta is a gorgeous city as well as a center of entertainment and culture. Unsurprisingly, this makes it a fabulous place to find gifted, world-class fashion photographers.
