Reno landscape photographers have some of the finest natural scenery in the nation to work with. Besides world-famous Lake Tahoe and the nearby Carson Range, Nevada and California offer an endless playground to explore and make fine art within. The work of these creatives is some of the loveliest we’ve come across. Their eye for color, contrast, texture, and timing bring the world to life for us. You can appreciate storms and deserts without needing to bring an umbrella, for one! And if you’re looking for stunning prints for wall spaces or tabletop books, there is no better place to begin your search.
1. Justin Majeczky
Wide perspectives of rocky landscapes, lapping waves, and painterly skies are some of the strong points of Justin Majeczky! You can see more of his work in print at the Alpenglow Gallery, in nearby Truckee, CA! Here he offers massive prints that offer a completely different perspective of what’s on offer in his portfolio and Instagram account. Justin’s photography even takes us on international journeys, including Scotland to see the famous Old Man of Storr on the Isle of Skye! Or underwater to see the sea from a whale’s-eye view!
2. Scott Sady of Tahoe Light

Scott Sady was originally a photojournalist, covering major events like the Olympics for major publications like the Associated Press and USA Today! Much of his work now focuses on outdoor adventures and Western landscapes in Nevada, California, and the Pacific Northwest.
There really is something for everyone in his collection; Scott’s photography includes everything from hoodoos and waves to mountain peaks and meadows. Deserts sit side by side with astrophotography. Scott has explored some of the best national parks in the country to create large-format fine art prints for collectors with taste.
3. Jeff Dow
As a commercial, portrait, and landscape photographer, Jeff Dow has one of the most expansive portfolios you will ever come across. His love for light and documentation takes him on some amazing adventures. From mountain tops to below sea level, he doesn’t let anything come in between him and the best possible image.
Jeff’s landscapes best express his eye for contrast and color. Bold shadows snake their way across the frame and the subtle contours of geologic features are nicely balanced by the sun and sky. He also often adds a lifestyle element, bringing hikers and other people into the frame that tells a very different story about the world presented!
4. Ali Rivera Photography
Reno and the surrounding region of Western Nevada and California are the main focus of Ali Rivera! As a real-estate and Reno landscape photographer, his portfolio expresses his appreciation for the scenic views of the region. And it does so from a surprising diversity of angles, including aerial drone’s-eye views that few people would otherwise experience.
Ali’s work offers a look from the perspective that only a local can provide. Over the course of the year’s seasons, we get to see how the Reno landscape transforms. From spring leaves to winter’s snowy embrace, the city and landscape are never the same. Locals looking for fine art prints for their walls will find a lot to love here.
5. Tom Rassuchine
Where other Reno landscape photographers prefer brightly saturated tones, Tom Rassuchine offers a more subdued presentation of the natural world. Subtle colors, stark textures, and fleeting dramatic lighting conditions offer us a look at the world less reliant on processing. Instead, we feel transported into the very moment, appreciating the artistry of nature as it presents itself.
Tom grew up in nearby Truckee and so he has a deep appreciation for the diversity of this seemingly simple palette of mountains, water, and sky. From thunderstorms and rain wraps to rainbows and Lake Tahoe, there is always something to wonder about in his portfolio. You can almost feel the wind and sun on your skin!
6. Scott Chandler Productions
From aerial drone views to real-estate angles, Scott Chandler is a lover of landscapes both natural and manmade. While he got his start in photography at age 12, it wasn’t until much later that his passion became a business. Besides landscapes and real estate, Scott also photographs weddings, food, and portraits for Reno clients.
Scott’s landscapes in particular are striking, showing a vision where bold lighting, textures, and Western scenery predominates. He often takes us on night journeys for long-exposure astrophotography. The Western skies offer some of the most light pollution-free areas in the country. This way we can fully appreciate the Milky Way as it blazes across manmade and natural scenery in his fine-art landscapes!
7. Jeremy Jensen Media
As a local who has been born and raised just north of Lake Tahoe, Jeremy Jensen’s love for the landscapes surrounding the area has only become stronger over the years. And since 2008 he’s added a camera to his outdoor kit, allowing him to document the natural beauty of the region in exciting new ways!
Since graduating from the University of Nevada in Reno, Jeremy’s degree in geography heightened his appreciation for spaces, lines, and shapes. In exploring architecture and landscapes, his work invites us to see the world through his eyes. What’s more, even in his documentary and portrait photography, the landscape often plays an important role, offering a backdrop for environmental portraits, for instance.
8. Steve of Hamel Studio
Among one of the most talented Reno landscape photographers is Steve Hamel, an artist whose camera is always by his side as he explores the world. The mountains of Nevada and other Western states offer an endless array of vistas to document and artfully represent.
We especially love his preference for richly saturated colors! Fall leaves, bright blue skies, and vibrant sunsets are how he expresses his vision of the world. What’s more, he finds endless vistas in his wanderings, taking us from the tops of snow-capped mountains to pristine lakes.
