If you’ve been dreaming of getting married in the Big Apple but want to have a small ceremony, we’ve got you covered with this curated list of intimate wedding venues in NYC. From a stylish wedding in Manhattan to a hipster wedding in Brooklyn, you can find the perfect venue for your big day at one of these memorable Peerspace locations. All of them are available to rent from local hosts, and in some cases, you’ll have access to on-site catering options, furniture, A/V equipment, and more. If standard wedding venues are too big or impersonal (or expensive) for your needs, we think you’ll love these smaller spaces that provide more intimacy without sacrificing quality.
1. This multicultural event space in Hamilton Heights
This renovated church in Harlem is a vibrant art and music space that will offer a bright, colorful backdrop for your wedding. If a white wedding isn’t your style, consider this event space with a mix of cultural flourishes, including a grand piano, African drums, and other unique furnishings and decor. The main hall is large enough to accommodate 50 seated guests, with 24-foot ceilings and 4000 square feet of space. There’s also an outdoor garden area for exterior seating.
2. This versatile event space in Gowanus
This cozy Brooklyn venue is the perfect place for an intimate wedding for up to 20 seated guests (or a cocktail-style reception for 60). With hanging lights, exposed brick walls, and a full kitchen, it offers a homey vibe that you can decorate to suit your own preferences. Loud music and DJs aren’t permitted, but small speakers are OK, and your caterer is welcome to make full use of the kitchen.
3. This Victorian ballroom in Flatbush
This historic ballroom is a great setting for a traditional wedding, with most of the decor that you’ll need available on-site, including tables and chairs, tablecloths, period furniture, and a full kitchen that your caterer can use for food prep. The venue fits 130 guests for a cocktail reception and 60-80 guests for a seated dinner. You’ll have access to the main ballroom, as well as two furnished parlors that you can use as a bridal suite or a photo area.
4. This banquet room in Bushwick
White curtains, banquet tables, a fancy loveseat — this is one of the most fully-equipped intimate wedding venues in NYC on our list. The hosts run this venue as a customizable event space for bridal showers and weddings, with decor and set-up included in your rental fee. Tables, chiavari chairs, and A/V equipment are available on-site, with room for around 50 seated guests. You’ll just need to book a caterer and bar staff for this affordable, ready-to-go wedding venue!
5. This industrial loft in Brooklyn
There’s no better place for a hip Brooklyn wedding than in a former coffee roastery that’s been turned into a 5,000-square-foot loft. The wooden floors and exposed brick walls offer a blank slate that can be turned into a classy venue for up to 150 people. You’ll have a loading dock, professional kitchen, sound system, and temperature control. The hosts have preferred vendors for catering and furniture rentals, or you’re welcome to arrange your own through our Concierge team.
6. This rooftop venue in Little Italy
Host your ceremony on the rooftop of this beautiful venue in Little Italy, which is perfectly suited for an intimate wedding for up to 55 people. It has a built-in bar, dining table, and lounge seating, plus WiFi and a sound system that you can use for music or toasts. And, of course, there are epic views of the NYC skyline! This venue doesn’t have banquet seating available on-site, but you can hire your own caterer and arrange for furniture rentals directly through Peerspace.
7. This historic townhouse and garden in Lower Manhattan
This brick and marble townhouse was built in 1832 and serves as a museum, with period decor and furniture throughout the house. It also has a beautiful outdoor garden full of ivy, flowers, and a topiary that can be used for a reception or ceremony (or as the backdrop to your photos). Rates vary based on the size and complexity of the event, so reach out to the host directly to discuss catering and staffing options. The venue is best for intimate weddings with up to 60 guests.
8. This “little palace” in Brooklyn
This unique venue in Bushwick is one part Alice in Wonderland, one part Versailles. With antique furniture, checkerboard floors, and a wall covered in mirrors, this space is used for photo shoots but can also serve as an intimate wedding venue in New York City for up to 25 people. You can host your ceremony in the main room and can use one of the two themed bedrooms as a bridal suite. There’s also an outdoor garden and a full kitchen. Wine glasses are available on-site, but you’ll need to arrange your own food and drink or book a caterer through Peerspace.
9. An elegant hall near Bryant Park
This event space offers the perfect mix of historic charm and modern amenities. It features a grand lobby with a wrought iron staircase that’s complemented by a colorful NYC mural with a modern vibe. The main hall has antique mirrors and chandeliers, as well as a sound system and HD projector. Tables, chairs, and couches are included with seating for up to 70 people. You’ll have the space to yourself for up to 10 hours at a flat weekday or weekend rate.
Finding the right intimate wedding venue in NYC can be a challenge, since some smaller event spaces just aren’t equipped to host a wedding. But with Peerspace, it’s easy: even if your local host doesn’t offer catering or furniture rentals, you can arrange for all of your decor and staffing needs directly through our Concierge team for an all-inclusive, stress-free booking!
